I can feel a pommy choke coming on hobbo

Yeah we will score 700 in two days and roll the Poms for 250

If only you were in the side happy that would be a given.

Happy was a splendid keeper/batsman !
Shame his fingers won't fit it the gloves anymore

Happy is the only Cricketer to get a caught behind of his own bowling…ct. wkt Happy b, Happy

Well done Mitch Starc (NSW) for a 6 fa...

A good recovery (if you can call it that) by the openers, but they were always climbing Everest. These guys should be tested for intellectual disabilities with these shots. Arrogance and ego as Michael Vaughn put it.

The prospect of losing 20 wickets in the first two days of a test is embarrassing, let alone losing the match inside 2 days. With Voges, Clarke and Marsh all struggling this test, the team essentially has batted down to 3 all series. The only game we've won is when the top 3 got runs.

We only need 460 more to set the Poms a competitive total

We should be right by the time we've batted 4 times

The biggest problem is who do you bring in , no one playing shield cricket jumps out

There is a Guy that lives up Rockhampton way who is in his mid 40's and will save the Aussie side, the trouble is it's a 24 hour flight and won't make it to England in time.

Unless we pray for rain on Day 3.

I think CQ is older than his forties FT

Still think digging up the pitch is our best option

Let's face it you guys - Happy, FT or me just can't do any worse, could we? This is the drubbing this team needed. How many times over the last few years has Haddin and the bowlers rescued the situation? Plenty. Usually only one top order bat scores runs the middle order have been brittle for many years.

Without Smith's form over the last few series we would have lost those too.

Anyway

Listening to Ponting interviewed, he didn't hold back. Predicted that 8 of the current squad would most probably never play another test, and he's probably not too far off.

I can only think of 4 players who would be guaranteed to be there next Ashes series. Warner, Starc, Smith and probably Neville. The rest, nope. Massive transitional changes ahead for this Dad's Army. Sad when 2 of your most inform players are a guy whose retiring at the end of series, and the other retired just before it started.

Agree with everyone's view .

After winning the Ashes 5-0 in the Summer , we seriously could not have predicted how things have turned out . Embarrassing is an understatement .
As GNR says we need a massive broom through this Squad and starts with Clarke . As our leader he just doesn't seem overly concerned to me , he's going to be a Dad for the 1st time and it's understandable to have your mind elsewhere . So in saying all that maybe it is time to pull up stumps and lets do this transitional period and bring new blood , don't know who though as no one is standing out in Sheffield cricket.

To me you know your desperate when you are swapping the Marsh brothers in each Test match.

Clarke passes the buck and gets too defensive when questioned. The Richie Cunningham disposition that he's always tried to hide behind quickly disappears. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if he's neer been liked in the dressing room.

Yeah , when he lost the Toss in the current Test match and interviewed on the pitch and was asked
" so what would have you done if you won the toss Michael " ? he's reply was along the lines " it doesn't matter we are batting " , i just thought to myself what a complete tosser 😱pen_mouth: , your Captain responding like that . He knew right there he was doomed as the smart choice would have been to bowl 1st as History would tell you .

Ponting was the same late in his career towards the media when he knew the knives were out. The difference with Ponting though, he never tried to pass himself off as somebody he wasn't, unlike this personality fraud whose made a career out of making himself look like butter wouldn't melt . Biggest arse kisser in the history of Australian cricket. And that's something i've been saying for a long time, not just saying it to kick him while he's down.

No way they'll drop half the side. The Australian cricket team has always been a team full of nepotism. It was always harder to get in than get dropped. There will be a token dropping, most likely Voges, and they'll likely return Watson to the side, so it will be a step backwards. Players like Haddin, Rogers, possibly Clarke might walk, but they won't be sacked.
