To Beetroot or not to Beetroot…

What makes a good one...?

Beef, Chicken, Pulled Pork, Turkey, Fish even Tofu...nothing is excluded..no discrimination... *Kababs not excluded,...

Mass produced by franchises or the local take away or homemade..Plain or with the lot..

So many possibilities..much more interesting than Politics Religion or sex...

Where do you get yours...?

Who makes the best...?

Fire away...

Must have beef beetroot bacon and cheese tomato and onions

The best hamburger I have ever had was at the Argyle Café at the bottom of Argyle St at the Rocks.

A great hamburger is a contradiction of terms. A kebab with that eggplant babaganoush paste puts hairs on your chest, just stay away from the chicks for a few days afterwards.

^ and egg. No pineapple. In a no-contest, the best I've ever had was at the Cow Bay Hotel in the Daintree. If you're ever up that way plan for a big lunch.

We could easily have a Kebab debate as well. I like both.

A burger must have bacon, egg, chicken or beef, a good sauce, lettuce and mayo if it is a chicken burger.

No beetroot, cheese & pickles

I was with you till, no cheese

Had a tasty one that struggled to fit on the plate at [This word has been automatically removed]abarabran about forty years ago.

A great burger for me starts with the classic cheeseburger. If you can make me go "wow!" then you're doing well. Slightly pink patties, American cheese, crispy bacon and juicy pickles are a must too.

Beetroot is essential
Love a good burger with the lot my favourite is a little greek takeaway shop I i used to go to in Canberra.

Plus here is a random fact fish and chip shops always seem to do great burgers.

Beef, Bacon, Egg, Lettuce, Chees, Tomatoe, Beetroot, Onoion, Roll lightly toasted and pineapple placed on allowed to sit while getting it back to the office but then removed so you keep the flavour without having to bite it beautiful

Also big fan of Pauls famous burgers in the shire

Onions and BBQ sauce are a must. I went for a surf in the morning came home starving and made Burgers for the family.
I made the patties by combining mince meet, sausage mince breadcrumbs, onions and herbs.
Also made the sauce, which was a smokie BBQ one. Fried up bacon, eggs, onions, pineapple rings, Put it all on sourdough rolls with beetroot and lettuce and a big skewer through it to hold it all together.

Interesting there is so many different tastes on here! As for me, I like a simple old fashioned type of hamburger with a normal soft seeded bun (none of those hard crusty ones they serve up at trendy cafes), real beef, lettuce, tomato, beetroot (a must have) and fried onions (not raw) topped with BBQ sauce - perhaps with an egg if I'm in the mood, but no cheese or bacon thanks.

When I was a kid a Greek family used to own a take away on Liverpool Rd at Enfield - they made the best burgers and they were only 27 cents! Also, had some good burgers, when I was a bit older, down at the chew & spew on the Princes Hwy Wandandian, but I guess at 2am after a night out at the Bomaderry RSL anything tasted good  These days there is a great take away at Toukley on the Central Coast called K-Cees (I think) and they still make them just the way I like em
