The pack

Yeah but there was players in the 1st 7 Rounds that aren't with us now Blair, Thompson, Gavet and Austin.
Didn't really think that one through properly before posting :brick:.
I think we might do better than the gloomers are predicting though.
In JT I trust, what else can I do?

There's nothing small about our pack. Akauola is probably our smallest forward. KG,Woods,Sirro, Ava, Taupau, Lodge and Sue aren't small.

We have a big pack now that looks really good assuming we play a prop in the lock forward role. Akaoula and Sirro are the small backrowers and they are big dudes.

I don't see size as the issue at all. It will be the skill level and decision making especially the second row.

not sure what JT is up to , but willing to give him till round six to see were we are at. if the house has fallen to the ground and is beyond repair then he will have a lot to answer for as he seems ( and no one knows ) to be the one going down the track of letting every one go and not wanting to sign any one. he is really playing with fire he could lose the supporters and sponsors if this goes pear shape. i am all for clean outs and rebuilting but we have had to put up with this crap for years now and nothing changes. we have a good crop of kids but u need to blend youth and experience together not just throw the kids to the wolves. good luke JT we all will be watching u will sink or swim by what u sow.

Sue is 182cm & 107kgs in comparison too Watmough who is 181cms & 95kgs & paul Gallen who is 180cms & 104kgs so he isn't that small.

There is no doubt there is some beef in that pack, and some real height as well….

Im hoping for more offloads this year, especially from Siro and Akoula who are very tall and can ball play.

Our pack will be able to match most teams in terms of size and attack but once again I question their ability to defend for 80 minutes or even two sets in our half of the field. It all comes down to attitude and communication and they have not shown much in the past, granted they are a year older and defence has been Taylors focus in the pre season training

looking forward to seeing our pack this year.

ava now heading into his second off season should see him harden further along with lodge.
while the talk is about reaching your 50 games it is more about getting 2 full off seasons under your belt.
the depth looks good at prop so hopefully we c an keep woods fresher for the long term with more minutes for others.

backrow is about opportunity.
we have had the worst backrow in the comp the last 3 years,so i'm not concerned we have lost some from the group.
this off season we have players that have a chance to make the spot their own.

in the next 3 months someone new will be added to the squad that has experience.
someone from another team will screw up or get the shits with their coach and come here.

i don't have high hopes for sirro though.with his groin recovery he has missed yet another off season due to injury.
i maybe wrong but i think his last 4 offseasons have been 2 shoulder reco, his toe injury at the nines and now groin surgery.
hard to develop as a backrower without offseason work.

the lose of experience is what worries me but if they play for one and other hunt as pack in defence we may go well fingers crossed

i also wonder about lodge playing at lock.
he seems like a workhorse who could really grow into the role if sue doesn't kick on as hoped.

yeah it can be a worry, but i was tired of seeing experienced players offer bugger all when the going got tough.
give me young enthusiasm any day over that crap, and at a much cheaper price.

I'm interested to see how Santi develops.

I think he will develop very well "GNR4LIFE".
Have been impressed with his defence, and enthusiasm to keep backing his last tackle with the next one.
He had some real good games for Italy in the World Cup. If he continues that form into 2015 and the pack around him do their bit - the kid has a great future. He wants to play NRL and for the Tigers, that is why he came back -
love players that really want to play for us.

i cant recall a big menacing pack in 2005**. Injuries were the key. we had none. I cant even remember a big menacing pack in 2010 when the ref let smith get jeremy smith get away kneeing tuqiri in the kidneys with a few minutes left on the clock in goal kicking range. Payten out. In fact i cannot recall ever us having a big menacing pack. Its just not us - YET. Im SO over waiting for the culture to change. Why is it taking so long to realize the obvious. Are Beavis & Butthead on the board?

It was a very different game in 05

and it was different in 2010 - we would of been in the big one there - if not as i mentioned earlier the inept refereeing.

In hindsight Heigno not diving on the ball was the end of that squad and Sheens going forward.

Rightly or wrongly a few players never forgave him.

As for the pack this year i'm optimistic. It would be nice to add Merrin though if not just to have Sally at a few home games

we came back after that. Misjustice with the ref cost us. The penalty was in kicking distance for Marshall for knees in the kidney.

& the same could be said for the roosters game. I wasnt the pack as much as it was the whistle blowers.

The pack held their own on both occasions.

Sally would bleed red and white, so despite his knocking back the offer, I doubt Merrin will be going anywhere. He is punching way above his weight with her.

Why are we comparing a pack of Payten , Gibbs ,Ellis ,Dwyer ,Fulton ,Keefy ,Fifita and Rhino with the 2015 pack for

One was extremely experienced and fairly skilful and the other isn't even close
