If you commission a review, and you're part of what's being reviewed, good luck with objectivity.

But who else can commission the review, other than someone at the club?

I agree with others that it needs to be a review led by people who know how to do reviews or formal evaluations such as; determining terms of reference, scope of participants (staff, players, members, fans, corporate sponsors, board members ....?), data collection, triangulation and analytical methods, drafting of recommendatiosn aligned to data/evidence gathered etc.

Any number of people could do it and I don't think it needs to be anyone from an NRL background. But I do think a key compoenent of it should be how the soon-to-be functioning CoE will be integrated into systems improvement at the club.

Absolutely! The idea of an ex player or ex coach who isn't qualified and highly skilled to do a comprehensive review brings limitations to the scope. If they are genuine in their intentions to have a "full scale review" then the entire organisation should be open to the review. Any position which communicates or has influence on the playing group. Which obviously includes the chair, given the recent signing of Nofa.
My suspicion is we've had these types of reviews before, done in house, with the result known before the start. Sack the coach. This has a short term easing of the pressure on those who are really responsible for our mediocrity, and so it goes..

lol..the board demands a full review..

Well I demand a full review of the Board ..starting with Lee..

We are the stakeholders!

Can we get 400,000 people to say it’s just not good enough and WE would like to conduct a review of the club’s governance and its performance?

You can review the clubs performance and choose not to financially participate by not buying memberships or merchandise.

And we are glorified ticket holders as members, unless you are a WA member, you're not a stakeholder at all.

Imagine how dull the Melbourne forum must be with all that winning.
Winning is boring without years of pain.

Maybe, but I’d like the opportunity to try it out.

So the board is going to conduct a full scale review?
“We’re just going to have to sit down at the end of this year and work out what we need to do.”

The article seems to infer that this is the first annual review ever undertaken? Lol
Maybe it is?
I wonder if this review will close with some golf and fine dining?

I bags caddying.... a steak sanger on the way round will do...

That must be one of the ones that Fatty O'Barrell forgot about and left behind when he cleaned out his desk

Nice gesture of Baz to leave it for when a review takes place...

Will this really lead to real change as last 10 years has been so painful and we appear to be going backwards.
If Maguire and Brooks are here in 2022 then nothing has been learned.

If Brooks goes.....and Madge stays to finish his work and tenure.....then maybe the club has finally learnt something..
however, unless something drastic changes then I see both still here,Madge will keep developing the youth and Brooks learns heaps off Hastings....mouthwatering to have a review isnt it ???

Anyone, that doesn't currently have any affiliations with any NRL club. If they're on the board, an assistant etc they're out. That includes any internal staff including Sheens.

I was originally thinking Greg Alexander but in think he's on the board for Penny

They do a review every year, I hope nobody is expecting any serious changes this time around. Set your expectations low.

Well said @jirskyr, and you make a good point there, i would like to also add this.

Unlike the Northern beaches(Sea eagles) and the Eastern suburbs(the Roosters) the vast number.of the WT fans are a **Wonderful mixture** of different social classes

And unlike the old days of the amateur clubs who were mainly driven by the love of their local supporters, todays NRL clubs are a big business driven by massive tv business deals, and every business cares a lot about their customers (aka, fans).

Businesses go to where the population is, fortunately for the WT as a business they are within a population of over **1 million people** and as a **comparision** the Sharks region has a population of just 210,000. people.

**Mr Lee H**, is an astute businessman, and the **COE** is a tremendous **achievement** but it is still not enough, Mr Lee knows that with all the potential and the **monopoly** of this vast number of fans/customers that the WT have within the WT territory, the WT can become a **much bigger business**.

Mr **Lee** knows it, **Madge** has said it, and i think our **Maestro's** (Sheenius) decision to return would have been Influenced by it, yes it's true, ****the WT is the sleeping giant of the NRL****.

There are more people on Sydneys Northern beaches who follow other teams than there are manly supporters.Don't believe the publicity Manly put out

Brandy mightn't be a bad idea BB ...this is what the Panthers will look like when Iv leaves ....

If it were possible, it would be great to ask Harry Grant for his imput during the review process.
It would certainly tell where were at.
He became an origin player with us and received nearly weekly standing ovations from us in the crowd but yet he quickly went back to Melbourne to fulfill his Contract. In the past a player often fell in love with the place with that adulation and personal success.
But not he, wonder how he would compare the club's and did he think there was much future with us

He certainly ran.

Seems to have blocked out his time here.

He tried his guts out every game.
Professional as it gets.

Can't say the same for some other lads.

Personally, having seen Tigertown, I wld have done the same...maybe quicker!!
He may not be lost forever, but wed need a stronger coaching structure and several other guns to take the focus of him.He was heavily marked in the end

I hear you.

The COE will be huge for us though, going forward.
Wheels are in motion to develope a good foundation.
Future is promising for the Tigers.

Just need the on field results to reflect that.

Agreed with most sentiments, I’ve been the biggest critic over the past decade but the signs are there with a Blore, Stef, etc but maybe need some more talent in the backline?

This club has shown me nothing for 10 years. Nothing. So much so, that I actively enjoy watching other teams, because of the great players that have left. I'll believe we're improving on the field when I see it.
