If this is the case, the club is totally out of touch on most fronts.

I mean, a crowd and fan favourite, a good enough player to be picked in the latest rep team, great back-up to play anywhere in outside backs, has more ticker than half the side put together… and they punt him?

Unbelievable.

Why are people still in denial? it is happening

Kids crying? God help me. If he goes, he goes. If he stays, he stays. Not the end of the world either way. I do feel however that there is more to this saga than we know.

I think the theory that he knocked back the WT's deal is spot on.

Im thinking that because Beau and Heighno are best mates maybe Beau told the Tigers that if Heighno gets the flick then he will follow him to the Sharks? Sorta like the Sheens, Benji, Moltzen love triangle (if Sheens got punted then I would bet Benji and Moltzen would follow him like lost puppies ala Darius Boyd/Bennett.

x2

Beau & Hino to the sharks, Hummble gone, Lote wants a 2 year deal offered 1year, Sheens to N.Z who will be next. Its going to be a bit uncomfortable at the tigers award night when Beau is named player of the year.

Kids being upset might mean nothing to you, but to others it is upsetting. He isn't the best footballer ever, but the kids love him and that's what dragged my daughter into following the tigers this year. Taking her to a few games has been extremely special for me.

Show a bit of compassion instead of being heartless mate.

It would be uncomfortable because Woods was far and away our best this year (Farah missed too many games)

Of course no one thinks a kid crying is great but our club or any other club should never keep or purchase a rugby league player just because they are popular. The club has to do what it thinks is best to help it win a premiership and to best manage their salary cap. Whether you agree with thier decisions or not they should never be making decisions because it makes them popular in fact the sign of a good CEO and coach is to make the best decisions when they are unpopular. If they think we will have a better squad next year (and for the next 3 years given these are 3 yr contracts - so it cant be just about 2013) then they must no matter how unpopular make the decision

Not saying its not happening…but weren't you the guy saying you shouldn't believe anything until the club confirms it?

Let me say one thing i love this club just like the rest of the people on the forum, but i cant work out whats going on with players & management. I would of let Heighno see out his last year & i would keep Beau as he covers plenty of positions in the back line, they say they are trying to add depth to the team, my question is who is left out there to sign of quality? I hope we dont sign Lotti & let Beau go as i feel this is not adding to our depth, how could we of signed Lewis ? could you imagine the problems we would of had with the cap then.

But we don't have the depth in other positions like we do on the wing, Koro, Utai are both better than Beau and Nofo definatly looks like a better prospect. Its comparing apples and oranges saying theres other players who deserve to go before Beau, as while its probably true to an extent, its an unrealistic proposition when we don't have the same depth in those positions.

Saying Utai is better is a big call.

Nofo is untested in first grade. While I'm a huge fan of his, we don't yet know whether he can handle first grade.

We actually have quite a lot of depth at fullback (Beau*, Tedesco, Simona, Meaney, Humble*, even Rowe wouldn't look out of place) and in the halves (Benji, Siro, Anasta, Humble*, Miller*), yet Moltzen earns another three year contract :crazy . We're actually struggling for quality depth in the outside backs. Utai, Ayshford, Lawrence and Ryan are probably the starting 4, then Koro and Simona would be next in line in terms of depth, but other than that, you look at BRET and the U20s and there's not much experience

Utai is better IMO but either way hes definatly Beau's equal, what im saying is we don't lose much if anything when Utai replaces Beau.

Not sure how you can say we have alot of fullback depth after this season, Tedesco is the only one of those who is a suitable option at the back and while Beau is good for metres as a fullback, hes not a ball player and if you want to win a premiership you need a fullback who asks more questions of the defence. Just look at what losing Darius Boyd has done to the Dragons if you want proof, Morris and Nightingale are both quality wingers but are not ball players and as such when playing at fullback the Dragons have struggled to score points.

Beau is not a centre either, he struggled every time he played there for us particularly with his defense, not that hes a bad defender just that he wasn't used to defending in the centres.

Beau is a winger who is a quality finisher, its just that IMO Utai and Koro are both better than him hence its not really a massive loss in terms of player quality. Don't get me wrong i love the player but its not the worst decision the clubs ever made, and if it frees up the money to sign a good half or centre, and means we get to retain our promising juniors then im fine with it

THE Cronulla Sharks have signed Wests Tigers winger and Footy Show star Beau Ryan for three years.

Ryan will inform the Wests Tigers later today he will be joining former team mates Bryce Gibbs and Andrew Fifita in the Shire.

His Wests Tigers second-row team mate Heighington is also expected to sign within days.

Remarkably, Ryan agreed to a new three-year contract with the Tigers several months ago.

But the deal fell through at the last minute and no contract was ever signed.

Ryan’s signing is a massive boost for the Sharks, who are desperately need some speed on the wings.

The Wests Tigers star has had his best year in the NRL, winning selection in the Kangaroos PM team to play Papua New Guinea.

WESTS Tigers are preparing to undergo a player shake-up in the wake of missing the finals, with long-serving lock Chris Heighington poised to shift to Cronulla next season.

In a move guaranteed to create major internal ructions, Heighington - who is still under contract for 2013 - is close to finalising a three-year deal in the Shire to join former Tigers teammates Bryce Gibbs, Andrew Fifita and John Morris as early as November.

Footy Show funnyman Beau Ryan is also being shopped around to rival clubs as the Tigers consider tapping a number of contracted players on the shoulder. Coach Tim Sheens denied any deals had been done, but he admitted "there are some things that are going to happen that might make a few people unhappy".

"There's no doubt that we've got to do something in our recruitment area. We're looking to improve our depth rather than our main roster," Sheens said.

"There are some things that are going to happen that might make a few people unhappy.

I understand your point dermo, but if Utai or Tuqiri isn't resigned, plus their not getting any younger. I would much rather a bloke in his mid 20s than a 30+ winger. If their not resigned we rely on a Nofoin the 20's or some players in Reggie's like Simona. That's hardly solid depth - not that they couldn't do the job, but if they can't handle 1sts, we will see constant changes and no confidence in the young blokes.

We may only get another half to full season of any quality from Utai/Tuqiri. Beau has a healthy body and whilst not a superstar, is versatile, and gives 100% every game.
