Tigers dump Beau Ryan and Chris Heighington to the sharks

No doubt his success this year priced him at a level we couldn't compete with. Good luck to him. Let's be honest Is he better than koro or nofa, tedesco or moltzen. Like I said good luck you earned the dollars you are going on to

Second last sentence doesn't make sense to me…

"There's no doubt that we've got to do something in our recruitment area. We're looking to improve our depth rather than our main roster," Sheens said.

Then why are we getting rid of first graders? If that statement is true, wouldn't we be buying players to cover certain positions?

This bloke (Sheens) has no idea whats going on!

Good luck to beau. No doubt his success this season priced him at a level we couldn't afford. I'm sure he is going to get a pay rise. Let's be honest is he one of our best wingers best fullbacks? A great clubman but we have some hot prospects who are better bigger and faster.

Oh well the decision's been made, we all move on. Good luck Beau. But the nerve of our club to go in hiding is a disgrace. Beau attended a mate of a mates birthday party on the weekend and he turned up with a signed jersey as a present. Not once did he mention dramas about our club. People like this are needed at our club, he'll be missed.

This news is just almost the last straw for a supporter for over 50 years to endure. He finally hit his straps this season was probably close to our best & fairest and now he's gone,What's next Sheens I am hoping & praying it's your head that will roll.

As sad as it is to lose Ryan this shuffle will most likely benefit us in the long run.

We've waited years to buy some props not wingers and it looks like it may happen at last.

GONE: Ryan (we've got tons of wingers and the up and coming island boys look slightly better anyway) Heighnington (Let's be honest he's passed it and I'll never forgive him for 2010 semi final scrum) Ellis (huge loss but he was injured all year, is getting old and when he came back didn't make much of an impact anyway).

GAIN: Anasta (experience and a structured no-nonesense half to foil marshall) Pettybourne (strong runner and tries wayyyyyyyyy harder than Blair) Thompson (bit impotent but cannot be worse than Blair - will try), Kite (Great buy in my opinion has had a stellar year, great bulk to add and is much better than Moors or Groat - LOL GROAT) Mose Mosoe (if this is rumour is true I think it's great he is better than Bell and on his day will destroy any defence and create opportunities for the celebrities Marshall Farah and Moltzen).

Everyone is whinging about Ryan's TV personality being a concern and how we have 500,000 wingers in our team - So now he's gone. Not happy about it but he's really not needed. We need big boys not TV stars.

Now if we get rid of Sheens we're looking good.

Ryan is one of the last players on our roster who should be punted, based on his form.

Yet the first person who should be moved on, the main man, still keeps his job. Unbelieveable.

Agree. Two of the more consistent players in Beau and Heighno are being punted to save money when the club should have moved the likes of Moltzen on who instead gets a 3 year gig despite being one of the Tigers poorer performing players this year.

It's just not funny anymore.

Ok I dont profess to understand the inner workings of a football club, but if you are looking to put a price on a Wests Tigers Image in the market place surely Beau Ryan was worth hanging onto. Why was this not factored into whether they re-signed Moltzen ?especially If the deal has been stewing for several months so I can understand why he is looking elsewhere.
If Wests Tigers are a business and they base their success not only on the field but by memberships, I bet that the presence of Beau Ryan and Benji in the footy show have had a lot to do with raising the profile of the club in the market place. With Beau we were getting not only a consistent all round performer, but a marketing bonus, and yet we chose to cut this tie. I believe the Club at least owes its fans some explanation as to reasons behind this move which would make it more palatable. The Footy show was difficult enough to watch, and with Beau now slapping a possible Cronulla badge on his chest it will make it even more painful.

Moltzen hasn't actually put pen to paper yet either, although they are still reassuring him that he is wanted…..... But who knows

I was a critic of beau at the start, but he evolved into one of the most passionate and consistent players this club has ever had! Easily one of if not the first picked each week!

Shame Concord SHAME!!!

Why are people still in denial? it is happening

Not saying its not happening…but weren't you the guy saying you shouldn't believe anything until the club confirms it?

I most certainly was which i copped a pasting for, but i was right wasn't it?

Letting Beau Ryan go isn't the end of the world. He had a decent year and id like him here, but the fact is we have a host of wingers with Koroibete, Nofolomu, Grant and maybe Utai (who is good value for his price). Plus if absolutely desperate our premier league wingers can do a job. Lets put this frank, its only wingers, you don't need 5 of them in a first grade squad.

Also keep in mind Ryan wanted a 3 year deal, meaning wed be signing him to be playing until he was 30\. There aren't many wingers who are good enough to still be going well at 30…. look at the impact someone like Luke Burt (A similar to Ryan player) has had in his last few years.

The fact is we have a host of wingers and Koroibete and Nofolomu need to be the priorities. The other fact is Ryan could only really hinder these two... particularly with a three year contract. You only need two wingers on the field and despite what others think, Ryan isn't good enough to be shifted into centre. Sheens has to bite the bullet and only pick 2 wingers and he's done that.

I should also note, while Moltzen and Ayshford were very poor this year, we really don't have depth in those positions so while Ryan does deserve to stay over them, I can actually see the logic in what Sheens is doing.

While I love Ryan and like his commitment, I fail to see this loss ever coming back to bite us. Ryan had a good year, but it wasn't as "amazing" as some people make out.
