Any addict will do almost anything to feed their habit. That is the definition of addiction.
For those of us who are reasonably mentally healthy, Simona's actions seem unforgivable. But aqddiction is as much a disease as cancer or HIV Aids and needs to be treated. Unfortunately, unless the addict wants to be treated, nothing can be done for them.
I hope Tim now voluntarily seeks help for this disease. And I hope both the Wests Tigers and the NRL make sure he gets it. He's going to need a lot of help to beat this. I guess he's about to find out who his real friends are. I wish him well. It'll be a long hard road.
I understand addiction is a disease but 100% disagree that the NRL nor the Wests Tigers should spend 1 second or 1 cent helping him. Not their problem. He has damaged both organisations. The Tigers should have spat in his face and the NRL should have banned him for life.
Yeah well sometimes you've gotta take the higher ground in these things. He was probably already in a pretty desperate place if he was prepared to do such disgraceful things as he's done. Getting caught and copping his punishment is unlikely to improve his situation. Nor is the public vilification he's going to cop. Nor is the knowledge that his pathetic actions have probably brought great shame on his family. When that many things come crashing down on a damaged individual all at once then bad things can happen. The club should help him because it's the decent thing that we do in society, even when people have spat in our faces.
I understand your anger towards him and you probably don't agree with anything I've said above any more than you agreed with yeti. Think about it from a football perspective though and if he goes and does something stupid and selfish and tops himself because he's too cowardly to face up to his actions what sort of impact do you think that's going to have on guys that have seen him at training every day for the last 5 years? Guys that have called him a mate? I've lost workmates to suicide and it is seriously damaging to those around them.
