Time For a home.

5 nerds on a forum...interesting calculations there.

I'm going off what i always read on social media. Clearly you know better though.

Question is where are the team going to be based for training. As concord sucks or needs redevelopment. IS everyone saying liverpool as game only or they saying build a stadium and all training facilitites too.

Wouldn't it be easier to move into something rather then build from scratch?

What's realistic?

Because we need new training facilities yesterday right?

I agree we do need a home but you cant ignore the history of our club. Regardless of where that home may be you need to have 2 Campbelltown and 2 Leichhardt games per annum. Liverpool would be great as it is central and in the hub of the growth areas and would attract sponsorship from South west business and broaden our supporter base. Then again I am totally bias as I am from the area.

You don't need 2 games at CSS or LO.

If you have a full time home at Liverpool, you've nailed yourself in the middle of South West Sydney. There would be little need to play at Campbelltown, although we could use it as a full time training facility and Leichhardt could be home to one game a year, and even then I wouldn't be too upset if we didn't play one there any more. The council have bled Balmain dry for years and the demographic is changing to one where they care little for the game. Leichhardt council doesn't deserve the Tigers. No wonder our identity is so messed up when we play in three different areas, have 6,000 jerseys and a quarrelling supporter base.

A full time home in Liverpool and a steady jersey design that we "own" much the way St. George and Souths own their traditional strips will go a long way in forging a Wests Tigers identity, rather than being seen as an extension of Balmain or Wests.

I think you are spot on, I would be up for our very own full-time home in Liverpool and a Stadium we can call home 12 games a year.
This mentality of us vs them between ourselves is killing our Club and a doing ourselves more harm than good.

Liverpool is pretty much halfway between Leichhardt and Cambelltown.
Liverpool to Cambelltown is 22 kilometres and Liverpool to Leichardt is 30 kilometres.

Would be awesome if it did happen for the future of our Club.

That's where a place like ANZ would come into play. The club has a raft of options to use as a training base with Leichhardt, Liverpool and Ctown councils all keen for the club to set up base in their area.

I love the idea of having one home ground and making it a fortress, but at present the only real possibility is ANZ and except for the financial rewards it offers you nothing. Their is no sense of ownership, very little atmosphere and I doubt you could ever create a fortress type mentality playing out of a ground that is shared by other clubs. Of course the guaranteed revenue will win over sentiment every day.

Like others the South West would be the logical location, with a state of the art stadium with very good public transport, but I doubt it will happen as the pollies seem to have gone cold on stadium building.

Well for what its worth Liverppool would not suit me - plenty of Wests Tigers supporters in the innerwest/ and Ryde/NthRyde area - however if it meant longterm stability I would accept it. I would expect any decision made would come after some indepth studies of the supporter base. If the current supporter base wont travel to Leichardt and or Campbelltown depending on where they are located - Liverpool dosnt really offer a better option - unless of course there is already a large supporter base there. Plus some fans just will not go to the games anywhere unless the team is successful, I think we need to focus on getting that right first.

You'd think any new stadium in Liverpool would need a fulltime commitment from multiple clubs and codes. I doubt wherever we end up will get a fortress feel about it but that hasn't stopped success for souths and the dogs.
I'd hope the only thing holding us back from moving to ANZ is the pending decision on stadium strategy.

Ideally, a stadium in Liverpool would house Wests, WSW and GWS.

I actually live ten minutes from ANZ and much the same to LO, but I am also a realist and you have to take the game to where the population live. Okay in recent times it has been a struggle to attract a decent crowd to both our traditional grounds, but the teams on field performance, the weather, the time slot and our opponents have all contributed to this. Give us a few more games like last Friday night and the job of drumming up a following will be much easier

Everyone on here is a nerd….myself included.

No need to be so sensitive princess.

Says the biggest princess on here.

Okkayyyyy then.

In other news, I reckon we need our own leagues club too while we are at it.

One home ground and one central leagues club, and I think we actually start to look like a proper, unified club.

Being population centric is a obvious advantage for Liverpool.

The obvious disadvantage is the fact that is doesnt exist yet, so someone will front up some big cash.

Despite the growing business community in the area, at this point Ive heard pollies discussing that it is not ideal for the ongoing corporate support required to fund a stadium of that size on an ongoing basis.

Homebush is fine. Even CSS is fine. Im originally a Balmain fan, but think Leichhardt is nice for a visit, but the nostalgia wears off

Brisbane is screaming out for a second NRL Franchise… Langlands Park is a good base/facility and we can play at Suncorp every second week.

Brisbane or Perth is the best location!

There is a members' event being held at Hillier Oval in Liverpool in July. It's the first time, from memory. Fantastic for me. I can walk there!

The Tigers also have rooms at the nearby Whitlam Centre where the junior teams use gym and other facilities.

There may well be something to the "rumours" of the Tigers moving to a purpose-built stadium in the Liverpool area.

And, don't forget, Liverpool is only a short trip from the proposed Badgery's Creek airport. Population growth (and property values and development) are increasing significantly right now.

Why not tap into a growth area and own it for decades to come?
