Beau Anit that Bad, The Team love him as do the fans

Sorry but he isn't that much better than Fitzy, I like him too I think he is great for team morale but if I was coaching a First Grade team he would not be in it. He struggles under the high ball, doesn't make many metres from dummy half, is too light and is too slow.

I still remember the game against the Raiders at Leichhardt where Ryan got smashed from pillar to post, and put in a game winning effort. He might lack a bit of finesse, but he plays with a huge amount of heart, and if you have all the skill in the world, it means nothing if you don't have heart.

Come on Flash, he's much better than Fitzy. He's great for team morale. The man gives his heart and soul to the Tigers and he's skillful enough. He did have a couple of brain snaps this year, but he's better than that.

Played well in fullback for a long period there. He dropped that spiral against the Roosters, but I don't think many people could have caught that.

Agreed, not a superstar, but definitely good enough to hold his spot. I still remember his sideline pass onto Ashfords chest against the Knights and his chip through against the Raiders. He can definitely pull out quality sometimes.

If we won a premiership with Fitzy on the wing, we can definitely win one with Beau there.

i think some of you guys are a little hard on Fitz….. he may have not been the best player in the tema but still managed to be on a winning team.. Every team has a Fitz..... but regardless he still was a good WT and im glad we had him

A team is only as strong as its weakest point, you blokes are kidding yourselves. When we lose a Grand Final or a qualifier because someone has let you down you will be ripping in, you cant afford to keep someone in first grade because they try hard or they are good for morale.

The bloke retires from the NRL and they still can't stop bagging him. Over the years his perception as a crap player will only increase in the eyes of many on this forum. You'd think they'd lay off him now but no…

And to think there have been many more crap players to wear the WT jumper over the years. Compared to Jackson Kaufusi or Hasem Saleh, Fitzy looks like Larry Corowa...

Was thinking about that the other day. Fitzy would have been a superstar compared to some of the signings in the team from 2001…

Yeah you can. Positivity and mentality plays a big part. Beau is MAJOR part of the team, a mate to everyone and loved by not only Tigers fans, but most of the NRL. Could you imagine the divisions it may cause in the team if Sheens demoted him to State over someone who isn't clearly miles above him. I believe Taniella is the only one who could displace him without creating disharmony.

I think it's the same reason why Daniella didn't displace Ayshford even though he outperformed him.

I for one wouldn't risk it, especially when Beau does have some skills.

You guys are right, I didn't really mean to bag the bloke. He was a stalwart for the Tigers and a true club man. Just trying to make a point comparing our 05 winning side and today's side.

What we all need to realise, is that every player costs their team a win or wins at some stage in their careers. How many has Benji lost us one way or another? We never hear about Heighington not falling on that ball in the finals. Hodgson's intercept in Origin? All the players play just as hard as each other and do everything they can to win. Sometimes things happen, we win and they are a hero, sometimes other things happen, we lose and we're all up in arms to sack everybody. Nobody is perfect.

Solid defender
Smart player
Safer than most under the high ball. (Minichello pushing him out of the way and putting knees in the back last year when we lost 12-8 to the roosters doesn't count, that was horse-shiat)
Enthusiastic -the guy will never die wondering, and neither will the fans.

Granted the guy had a flat end to the year, but look what happens when sheens put the word onto ayshford - he sprung into action. All sheens has to say to him is "Beau knows State Cup" and I think he'll spring back into form.

Gonna make selecting the back 5 a real headache - i'd say we have 8 or 9 quality players vying for 5 spots…

In his prime he was an underated player, unfortunately he played one season to many, he wasnt a 6,7,9 but always played where asked and tried his best, it want his fault he kept getting selected.

Say Benjis goal kicking costs us a game, or if Payten loses the ball coming off our own line, or Moltzen kicks out on the full, woild you rip into them? These things happen, thats life and thats football.
If Brown ,Daniella and co are playing better football than Ryan then by all means play them ahead of him. He is the incumbent tho and will get first crack i am sure. I thought he was decent during his stint at fullback and throughout the year, but his off field shinanigans definitely highlighted his onfield blemishes. I'll be happy so long as who evers playing the best football is in the side.
```
It wasnt just one isolated incident though, a dropped ball, a kick out on the full etc….it was mediocre rubbish 99% of the time....time after time after time....game ater game = he was a pet
WHAT ??? 😱pen_mouth:
We have bought 3 young wingers already so the club may already be preparing for this. Also, what happened to Samu Sauvao? He was very good on the wing before having to fill in at fullback.
Marika Koroibete, 18, wing (Fiji):
A speedy winger with touted defensive ability, Koroibete graduated to the Fiji national side while still at high school. Likened to compatriot Akuila Uate, he was sought after by the Knights before being lured to the Tigers.
Ratu Tagive, 18, wing (Canterbury-Bankstown):
Brother of former Tigers winger Peni, Tagive has a reputation as a speedy outside back who is safe under the high ball. The 18-year-old was part of the Bulldogs' Toyota Cup glory run in 2010 and is tipped to heap pressure on Beau Ryan.
Teqele Nayarvovo, 19, wing (Otahuhu Leopards - New Zealand),
A giant winger from New Zealand's top provincial team, Nayarvovo stands well over six foot and carries a 100kg-plus frame. With a further year of NYC eligibility, keep an eye on him to develop through the program.
