Tuimoala Lolohea Signs with WT

Why would they let him shop around with other clubs, then DENY his release.

If anything is going to mess with a players head - that would be it.

Maybe NRL Welfare should investigate that…

This has been answered a few times before. He is contracted until the end of 2018\. They may be quite happy to release him for 2018 but not 2017\. He needs permission to negotiate for 2018 in those circumstances.

Like I said last week this was now in the warriors hands and they don't want to release him now it seems. Which is strange but ultimately he's contracted to them til end of 2018\. Lolo and his manager agreed to terms (verbally) last Tuesday, but always needed clearance from NZ. I believe if the deal requires lolo to be released for remainder of 2017 to ensure he gets a contract beyond 2018 then they will release him. Just takes time. Warriors might want compensation

We can't complain, we're doing the same with Moses.
Doesn't matter that one's playing reserve grade, in fact they're both playing like reserve graders

So do you think this is a bit of posturing by the Warriors to get a better compo package for Lolo?

I have zero idea. I would of thought getting his contract off the books would of been good enough reason.

The Warriors have denied Tui Lolohea's request for an immediate release with the club insisting he remain in Auckland, at least in the short-term.

Lolohea's player agent Stan Martin today met with Warriors managing director Jim Doyle and recruitment and development manager Tony Iro seeking a release from his contract which expires at the end of next season.

It's understood the 22-year-old utility is keen to move to Sydney midseason to join Wests Tigers, having also attracted interest from Canberra, North Queensland and Newcastle.

He was recently granted permission to talk to rival NRL clubs but the Warriors are not ready to say goodbye to him just yet.

Coach Stephen Kearney believes he could be of value to the side in the coming weeks and at the club is unwilling to part ways with the dual Tongan and Kiwis international until they have appropriate cover.

"He's contracted with us until the end of 2018 and until we're ready and found a suitable replacement he will remain with the Warriors," said Iro.

Work with the hand you are dealt. Rankin to 5/8 Moses to reserve grade until Parramatta are prepared to offer up a player of value and chase Nicoll-Klokstad as a fullback

Wouldn't mind Lolo but also happy to stuff Mitch around more. **Just don't pick him**.

I reckon he's a certainty to be picked.

But he told his Uncle Ben that he is physically there but his mind isn't. Benny offers his sympathy to the very well paid poor kid. I don't know about other supporters but I hate to hear and see our club mocked by these two sleazies.

Looks like moses will be playing out the year here then. Hopefully in reserve grade.

Not if Uncle Benny uses his yesterday's hero fame and influence. He is treating Mitchell Moses like a pushy father would treat a coach of a 10 year old in junior football. And as a former juniors coach I've met my fair share of them.

Wake up Kearney…you were leading 28-6 and got rolled, your a basket case....let him go

As much as we really want it to happen due to the way Moses is distracted and distracting the team.
If you sit back and think about it. Kearney and the Warriors hold the Key to improving 3 other teams fortunes for this year.
Both Penrith and Us are desperate to offload our destabilising play makers and the Eels are desperate to receive one to cure their injury concerns.
With all that said The Warriors have 2 fit and firing halves and plenty of cover for every position that Tui can cover and are not desperate to release him.

As long as the warriors are a contender they are not about to make there chances of competing anymore challenging.

So he is not getting released at this stage but does anyone actually know if he has signed with us or with another NRL club E.g. NQ ??

I would be telling the warriors don't worry about the release, you can keep him we will look elsewhere it is not worth the effort.

Ivan is making the call and seems to wants him even if we have to wait. Not fussed either way personally.
