It's not a case of "if" we don't beat them...we won't get within 20 points of the Knights - they'll towel us up through the ruck like they did both times last season.

Sadly you’re a fair chance of being correct. If we can’t get within 20 of a fringe top eight side, surely major changes are inevitable. CEO, coach or halfback ?

Let's see if Madge is still as tough as he was last year. Will two shocking performances in a row be enough for players to be dropped? If he doesn't and we lose he looks terrible, if he doesn't and we win he looks a genius

Alternatively if he drops them and we still lose we're just stuffed 😂 I could see it going either way, either a similar team or quite a few changes. Hopefully it's the latter

Are you not picking out one or two weeks of a 25 round season? Or should we wait until the end of the year? Wait a couple of weeks until BJ is out of the team, JTJ, Blore and Musgrove are back, this years team will even stronger.

The only stronger players to come back into that Rd2 team would have been Grant, Brooks. Brooks cancels himself and Grant is better than Liddle Ill give you that

Not sure of your point? Aloiai and Marshall were both in that rd 2 team and their replacements are better.

Surely you are not putting the Huth over Joe O, Tamou or Stef?

hate to agree and been feeling this way since last year.

I hope the NRL cuts to 12 teams and puts us out of misery. The organisation and the team is a failure. Unfortunately, they have got a loyal supporter base like us who keep forking out money.

I haven;t gone to a game now for almost 2 years. Haven't had a membership for 4 years now.

We as fans love discussing tactics, player performance, recruitment etc but it's kinda useless now. I honestly don't blame the players or the coaches. They are trying hard and many are improving but the other teams are so far ahead of us that we will never be able to catch up.

It doesn’t help that the governance of the game has systematically enabled an ever increasing gap to develop between the haves and the have nots of the NRL with Wests Tigers clearly on the side of the have nots. Not saying we haven’t shot ourselves in the foot for pretty much the whole of our existence, just pointing out that the inequality of the comp hasn’t helped our cause in trying to move up the ladder either.

With the exception of maybe Laurie they're all under performing
Here is a case in point
Liddle makes a break and toupanua blindsided him and absolutely crunches him with all he's got. Which was totally legal.
Later in the game the opposite situation occurs. Tedesco is avoiding a tackle , Liddle comes up behind him and has the opportunity to hit him hard but just grabs him in a hug.
That's the difference between a top eight side and a bottom side.

I think @Tiger5150's point stands, that objectively it's a better squad in 2021 than 2020, with many more smart long-term purchases vs proven middle-road footballers.

For example I had a lot of time for Corey Thompson but Daine Laurie has a million miles more upside, as does Kepaoa over Robert Jennings, Liddle over Walters, Tamou over Aloiai etc. The bench is almost the same and Musgrove would have been there if possible.

Question as always is whether the individuals can start to perform as a team.

You do know that there will still crowd restrictions don't you?

Also the Rorters only have about 100 fans (being kind) that travel to their games.

The weather would have kept heaps away as well.

Not sure what sort of crowd you expected.

Like "us"? You haven't been to a game for 2 years or membership for longer. I am guessing you haven't bought a jersey.

All well and good to give up on the team but there's a group of supporters that I am part of, and by your subscription, pretty sure you aren't a part of my group.

And what does it mean that I'm not a part of your group? Somehow you guys are superior supporters to me?

And the reason I said 12 teams was simply because the NRL doesn't have the same talent pool anymore. Andrew Johns has been banging on about this for 2 years as well.

Unfortunately, businesses fail, organisations fail and teams fail. This team hasn't been in the premiership race for 10 years and won't be anywhere close to it for another 3-4 years at least.

You and your "group" can keep supporting them and cheering them, full respect to you. But the last game I went to was the Round 26 game against Cronulla and then after COVID last year, I have no motivation to go to games.

The club has done very well of hyping up every season and it has one of the biggest supporter basis in the NRL. I think we are in the Top 6 for membership sales every year.

My passion for this team is decreasing every year and there would be many more like me.

He wasn't banging on about it when the Knights were getting the spoon though - was he?

No I actually agree with this, not your comment Russell unfortunately but the one above. Same as Canberra. Every player hits with intention to ruck the ball out. Not rake at it, but make the ball area first contact and keep the arms, legs, head whatever it takes in contact with the ball until the ref call held.
Tupinouas play and idea was spot on. That’s the sort of footballer we need to recruit.

You do realise Pascoe is not responsible for signings - right?

I’ve done this to death. The football department is something he oversees. As are our results.

I give up - yes mate, he is responsible for everything bad but has nothing to do with everything that is good.

You win.

I couldn’t give two hoots about anything but winning NRL games, that’s the business he’s in.

You could go through the whole side they all made mistakes if we don’t beat the knights who I reckon are ordinary that’s when big changes should be made

Problem starts with the halfback - he's been a constant for 7-8 years now. Yes, he's improved his defence a lot. Kicking game? Nope...Organisational game? Hell no. Add that up and what do you get? No finals...

Over to mr CEO to land his replacement. How’s Pascoe’s short kicking game?
