YEP!!
Wests Tigers supporters are responsible (In Part) for the success of the club as a whole….
Memberships, Getting to games.... We can all do our part.

Drove past CSS yesterday and there was no signs or promotion of the game what so ever,
Unless your a Wests tigers fan that visits their website regularly you would not know there was a game on this weekend.
Will never attract new fans or larger crowds if only the regular keen Tigers fans know about the game.

Poor effort IMO.

Thats pretty weak imo. I'm not one of those people who defends the crowds by saying its the clubs fault for not promoting the game, but geez. To have no advertizments up at all around the ground, thats rediculous. There should be signs all the way down Pentbroke rd. Another thing that should be done is the station outside the ground should have images of Tigers players everywhere. Like i said, i don't believe in blaming lack of promotion but that is weak

Pronmotion in this day and age is everything. Peoples lives are so busy and there are so many competing interests, you need to make people aware of whats going on early, and entice them to part with their time, let alone cash.

Here are the letters I have from the Western Suburbs District Club (Warren McDonnell) and the Wests Junior League (Julie Luke) from December 1999.

From the Magpies…

It seems from the conversation that you are talking about different periods in time Galahs.

Whereas you appear to be talking about negotiations in preparation for the JV's beginning Boydoo appears to be talking about the birth of the issue when the magpies first moved to the area.

It would make sense that this is the case and that the attitude of 1999 finds it's roots in the original (claimed) ignoring of wish to affiliate

Don't we all? If we kept winning I assure you there wouldn't be any identity crisis. Balmain & Wests- how so infantile. We have to kill Balmain and Wests and all the people in high places who think with their is and not their head. They are blocking our future for all Wests Tigers fans, they should all be let loose on the plains of Africa. Wests Tigers is the future and Wests & Balmain directors by their mortal coil will never ever hinder evolution. All they can do in their ignorance is amputate our souls but they themselves will leave this earth, and when they do only then will Wests Tigers prosper. The sad thing is for older gentleman like myself I won't be on earth either to see it. But my sons & daughters will witness this era. After all we us forumers are only 1st generation fans, the other generations beyond us will see the legend grow. Just as I saw Keith Holman & Keith Barnes through to Benji Marshall, Tedesco, Curtis Sironen & Farah in the modern era. To live in the past is to live blind.

Why would the Magpies refuse the junior leagues application to affiliate with them when that is what they have been chasing for years?

Here's a thought…Why don't you ask them?

Mate don't worry I will.

But I would like to hear the other side of the story.
Why would the Magpies refuse it. Must have come with conditions otherwise there is no reason for them to refuse the affiliation.

I would like to get to the bottom of these issues, otherwise we will never move forward.

Can you send me a copy of the pages?

Here we go again more fictoin
Where is it said any bloody where that magpies refuses affiateion.
maybe there were condition i dont no but even if there was you would at lest ring em and say something
What i said was the juniors was ignored which in my opinin is much worse
So we just make things up again do we galahs

What I don't understand is this notion that the NSWRL or the new commission are powerless to do anything. Surely their powers to govern the game over-ride any petty dispute at a local level. As much as I dislike the idea of a larger body imposing its will on a local body, common sense tells me that the current situation is counter-productive and not conducive to promoting the game in the area.

Thought I saw on the news that Chris Lawrence and Gareth Ellis were out in Campbelltown promoting the game. I would have thought advertising outside the ground wouldn't achieve much unless you could see it from the train line or the freeway.

As you may be aware the Western Suburbs Junior Rugby League became an Incorporated Body in the late 1980s and severed their ties with the Western Suburbs District Rugby League. Despite numerous attempts to reconcile the two bodies this has not happened hence the NSWRL Board’s decision to have the **Western Suburbs Juniors affiliation through the Wests Tigers.** The fact that the Wests Tigers do not have a team in the NSW Rugby League competition is irrelevant as they are an affiliated body.

So the Wests juniors are affiliated with the Wests Tigers as the district club of the area.

So why haven't the Wests Tigers taken over the area sooner then, why have they waited? Why do they need the support of the football club to go ahead with the suggested proposals. As the district club for the region shouldn't they be doing this anyway?

What a mess…

Mate I've produced evidence. So far you've presented nothing.

Are you certain the Magpies ignored the Wests JL. Why would they do so when this is in the best interest of everybody including the Magpies.

Exactly. There is nothing, has been nothing stopping the Wests Tigers doing more out in the Campobelltown region.

People seem to assume the Magpies are blocking the Wests Tigers from doing more.

That isn't the case.

The Magpies would welcome more development programs, the centre of excellence, lobying council for better local facilities for clubs , fixing the Junior League issue etc etc

Wests Tigers even run and manage the Magpies Harrold Matthews and SG Ball to ensure comparability with their U20's and NRL programs.

Theres a strong chance the U/20's side will be based out of C-town, surely thats a step in the right direction for you Galahs

Could cost and resources have been a factor in Wests Tigers not acting?

Under the proposal from Wests Tigers to Balmain and Wests Group, will Wests Tigers be the district club for the current Balmain jurisdiction? Perhaps Wests Tigers had other fires to fight (ie: become profitable) and were happy for the current junior set up in C'town. Wests Tigers have certainly grown since 2000 and are profitable and perhaps now, they can invest in the resources required to run the district (as well as Balmain?)

Boydoo,
Do you have any idea what your talking about because the way you write your posts it sure doesn't look like it.
If I didn't know better I would think you are nothing but a stirrer trying to cause problems.

Alrighty, this thread is becoming personal once again, so before it gets derailed, please stick to the topic and not make personal insults toward one another…or the thread closes.

I am sorry if I offended anyone, I did not mean to, I guess I was just frustreated
