The Chooks won't lose for long. Whenever they have these spirals of form they somehow find a spare couple of million to top up their players.
Hope the Tigers can nab Taylor. Would really tighten up our middle and take some workload off our hookers. Would be a smart signing more than anything. Won't bust the bank and will do the job in defence and has a decent offload in his game too.

but I get the feeling someone in charge would be thinking 'why would we need him when we've already locked in superstars like Kyle Lovett and Chrissy Lawrence'
(with the greatest respect to those players, I just get the feeling someone at the club rates them higher than most people would)
and as others have said when its a battle of Wests vs [any other team] for a signing you can bet the house on [the other team]

Back on topic. Taylor has been dumped to State Cup today. Too good to be playing at that level. Suspect his manager is working on a release.

I think Edwards will be in FG very soon bringing the same skills that Taylor offers. We have to learn to keep our hands in our pockets till a player comes on the market that we desperately need….ie a classy goal kicker who plays a position we are short in

Taylor is an 80 minute workhorse who reliably makes effective first contact in the middle. Edwards is a hitman in defence but he has never been a picture of fitness. You'd be asking for trouble playing him for 80 in the same role as Taylor. His effectiveness in defence would decline markedly over time.
Cassell on the other hand has the potential to fill the same sort of role as Taylor, but we'll need to see how he develops. Even if he does develop well there's no quick substitute for the experience that Taylor has.

At the right price he would be a great addition to our back row depth. I'd like to see us get another prop as well.
