Parra fans get to hold their board accountable by elections. That is the difference

Thats worked well hasnt it. You still running this line 13 years on mate.

fans have too much emotion invested to be voting on the board imo.

And what, the players of clubs which don't even exist anymore don't have any emotion?

Prefer impartial and professional people like Mayer making decisions for Wests Tigers.

Without wanting to put words in Smegs mouth, it would be nice to attend a meeting of our representatives, officials, powerbrokers or whatever you want to call them and try and get an understanding of what they are doing and what strategy they have for the future. The process for electing directors onto the board is an entirely separate issue and should be determined from within.

I won't be supporting the club financially in 2014 if potter leaves without good reason. Was almost definitely gonna sign up as a member but a decision like that is beyond poor.

It's not about supporting the club through thick and thin, i've supported em strongly all year. it's about voting with our feet and pockets, cause they WILL understand that.

Exactly. I love the varied opinions on this forum but i dont want any of us actually making decisions that impact on the team.

Naah, that be just plain stupid, when we can have old Magpies & Balmain FC members doing it for us.

Of course, they have the JV best interests at heart…theyre going to do the right thing. :unamused:

so we have 4 pages of this based on a tweet from the mole???

for crying out loud

What did you expect. This forum could go on for 16 pages about something someone's great aunt thought she heard when on a train. (Which would be as reliable a source as the Mole)

I wouldn't put it past the Wests Tigers board to flick Potter and install Payten as head coach mentored by Sheens.

For most the season I have been very supportive of Potter and the changes he is trying to implement. I think any coach coming in to our sorry mess needed 2 years minimum to get any sort of tangible results for their labour. He deserves a shot with his own coaches and player on board in 2014,

However coaching is also man management, communication and motivating a side. If Potter is failing is these aspects no one really knows from this website?? Maybe he has been poor in these areas. You cannot get rid of 20 players at once, and if you have lost the dressing room then there is norma;y no way back. The players are probably hugely at fault in some aspects, however its much easier to punt the coach.

I would like to see Potter have 2014\. I feel sorry for him in many respects. However the last 2-3 weeks have been some of the most pathetic performances i have ever seen from the club, this is with players coming back from injury. I say if his man management, communication and motivational skills are not up to scratch then that can show on the field. If they come out and get hammered in their last 5 games i see little chance of Potter surviving. Im hoping he surivives and thrives, but its looking grim, seems the wolves are circleing.

so let the fans vote and fight fire with fire? if this forum is any indication of what would happen, we'd have a new board every year. we'll end up a mess….
not allowing fans to vote will take longer to weed people out but it also gives some form of stability.

If he goes the playing squad should hang its head in shame as its seen off two coaches in two years.

The coaches don't make the fundamental mistakes that have plagued the last few years and total underperformance of our more senior players (ex farah).

I hope Potter get's more time. SkyNews is saying he will get tapped…. probably based on the tweet.

Hard to say if this has any legs or not,

however

If this happens, I think we need to get a petition going for Potters reinstatement and the dismissal and replacement of the board. Show the powerbrokers that the fans and members are sick of the games and their behaviour which is hurting the club more than anything else.

I'd support that

Weird thought just struck me. What if potter is the one who wants out??

Wouldn't think so pHyR3

You wouldn't have to be a genius to see how this season or the next would probably end up

He seems an intelligent man , and would understand that this is what he needed to do to get his foot in the door ,so to speak and that he will need to battle it out to stay as an NRL coach

True, but never know what's happening behind the scenes with the playing group.
