Grub's third drug test has returned negative, so he'll definitely be there this weekend.

The apology from slothfield is in the mail on its way to the south pole

If I were Grub I'd stand in the foyer of the Errorgraph and bail him up when he inevitably slinks out at lunch for a sly few dozen schooners.

Buzz drinks in the office..

Should be easier to lay the old soak out then.

Is that what Buzz calls the local brothel nowadays?

Madge was pretty clear in his press conference today. Every player needs to play for 80 minutes, everyone needs to be a leader and the changes were about the team nothing else.

Pretty simple hey? Hopefully the players can bounce back and do what he asks.

Wests Tigers really switched off in the last 4 minutes of the match.

Madge got asked about what Packer did to earn a spot and said it was because of how good he’s got his body/fitness. Doing more training than ever and has worked hard to get back in the team

A switched on motivated Packer could help us throughout the season

They switched off after the first 15 minutes really

He was very clear. The rest is up to the players now.

I am hoping that this is the start of the cultural change this club requires .. not getting hopes up yet talk is cheap as we all know !

The best thing Madge could have done this week is take Reynolds and Brooks and introduce them to Joey Leilua. He's a devastating ball runner with a killer offload and he has been criminally underused this year. Get that man the ball.

Walters and Thompson drop off extended bench

I thought Reynolds might have been a sneaky smokescreen for Talau starting at 5/8. With Thompson dropping off there is now zero chance of that happening... I wonder who moves to wing if one of our wingers goes down in the match? Maybe Douehi to wing, Mbye to fullback, Chee Cam to centre.

If the forwards don't play better than they did last week doesn't really matter how Reynolds and Brooks go we will lose. They are still our biggest problem and will be exposed again tonight by the Canberra pack if they don't muscle up in defence and give the team some go forward to play behind.

Benji usually does all the talking in the team huddles, it will be interesting to see who takes charge this weekend. Hopefully there wont be too many huddles as we wait for Croker to attempt the conversion.

Grub won’t be short on words he’s like James graham in that reguard

I think this is the real reason there is extra forward on the bench

Chee-Kam, he is the utility - why make three changes, when you can make one. Closer to the sideline and out all together for me.

I’m excited by this team. The reality is that unless we go to market for a 6 or 7 for next year, we need Brooks to be the primary organiser into the future and this doesn’t seem to happen with Benji on the field.

Packer when fit is a good player, perhaps not worth what we paid for him, but a good player. We have been missing a leader and Packer fits that to a tea.

I thought the dropping of Garner was harsh but perhaps Maguire expected him to come looking for work more.

There seems to be better balance with this team.

I am confident that Talau can handle wing. He brings some firepower to our backline.

Fraze I said in an earlier post that Brooks and Grub should give the ball plenty of air and feed the backline...if its one thing I have noticed in all the games so far the backs have been starved of ball so then Mbye and Joey look like the do nothing in the game...its not their fault,I blame Benji moreso for trying to many different things, plus the 5 hitups and a bomb makes it difficult for the backs to run the ball in space and create gaps and overlaps..
Madge may have woken up to the fact that the players rely on Benji to much because of his experience as well as being a legend, its now a different ball game with him sitting out,its now time for all these others to step up and most of all play the 80 and stick to the gameplan that Madge has given them..
That was 1 of the big things in his presso after the Titans loss...."they stuck to what we worked on at training for the first 15 mins then went away from it"...

Just hope it doesn't get as ugly as the 2016 game .....was sick as a dog with the flu ...stung myself with a big flathead my daughter had caught at the beach ......thought I was hallucinating when I saw the scores coming through
