I think everybody looking for a taylor to be axed are missing a huge point.

Robbie Farah!!!! Taylor did what the board told him to and was the front man to move farah on.He coped heaps of crap for it but make no mistake he was told what needed to happen. For that reason alone he will be given this season as a thanks for removing him.

The Brand of the WTs was considerably tarnished by the way JT went about it, Does anyone honestly believe Bennett, Bellamy or Green would not have handled the issue in a far better manner?

Come on Paws, it is well and truly time to get over this. Apart from a gaffe by Reddy and the temporary backdown when Pascoe, please explain just what was wrong with the manner that the the coach or club approached the issue?

I cannot recall one instance when a representative of WT did anything untoward or spoke disparagingly of Farah, and that despite threats from his representatives.

I suggest every take the named side as the intended starting side to avoid disappointment on Friday evening.

I would be very surprised if Taylor, or any coach for that matter, would play a rookie who has only played two games of NYC in Rd 1, even ignoring the fact that it would be in a position that the rookie has played very little football.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to start him round 1 while everyone else is rusty anyway…?

He looked very good against a full strength cowboys outfit which tells me he is ready

Meanwhile Rankin was our worst player out of all the trials by quite the stretch

I'm over it but we should not rewrite history.

This has been done to death a billion times already…..never mind

Can't wait till 8pm tonight when 2 reserves drop off ...It's like having 2 TLT's in a week...nice work NRL....

Good, but without rewriting the history and alluding to the above, what was wrong with the way JT went about it?

He was forced to apologise for his or his subordinates actions/behaviour towards a player(s). This clearly suggests a problem. That is all I will write as I am looking forward to our first game.

Have all these people ranking Suli above Rankin actually seen him play? For a bloke whos only played 2 under 20s games there seems to be a lot of fans that know his game back to front.

I havent and to be honest, even though we're paying this kid a shirtload, i want him to do a traditional apprenticeship to earn his first grade spot. Starting him over an experienced guy is a worse mistake than playing Rankin.

I think the question should be **'Has anyone seen Rankin play?**
Using this years trials as form he shouldn't be anywhere near first grade.
Suli has looked pretty good, stryker.
Even being inexperienced he seems the better option.

I know the forum is split about JT, but he has failed every test so far, so I guess he needs to be around the top 6 by round 10 , or we have again wasted another season on a useless coach. I will put it right out there I think he is not a coaches a**** hole, but I will give him to round 10, before a really start calling for his head. but this will change if he brings Lovett back into the side after his ban, having rankin is bad enough without him been there.

I believe BP by round six JT's future should be determined. If the Board is savvy, there should be a replacement in situ to take over so the year is not wasted.

So you want someone waiting around dependant upon possible negative results….. Yeh let's just hook up a potential replacement first grade coach. We only lost $4m or so last year if reports are to be believed.

Who... Pray tell?

And if the results happen to be positive... What do we do with this wallflower?

Unbelievable

A smart operation will have forward plans in place. "Wallflower"? you really do belong in another era!

You didn't…. Or couldn't answer the question.... Says it all

Come on paws... Which NRL standard coach should we have on standby?

Don't necessarily agree with Paws but there's one glaringly obvious candidate and that's Cleary.

On the other line of discussion, I'm a firm believer of "if you're good enough, you're old enough." If Suli has shown enough throughout the trials to justify selection he should be picked.

8 pages and no mention of Ava. Long deserved securing a starting spot.

Ava really needs to step up this season IMO. He's been around for a few years and is still wildly inconsistent. Time for him to properly kick on.

We all know about Cleary… But he'd have to be prepared to coach for peanuts according to the forums coaching salary experts... Maybe waiting around on standby for nothing he'd get used to having no income... Or maybe an on call/casual rate basis

We have to be the right fit for Cleary too. He's not a rookie, desperate for a crack. He's probably the hottest coaching commodity on the market, so he can afford to sit back and wait for the right club to come along.

Anyway its absolutely ridiculous death riding Taylor before a ball has been kicked. Especially seeing last year we went from 15th to 9th, and that still isn't enough for people to put the pitchforks away for a while.

CB has mentioned Cleary and if he is available we don't need to look to much further. He would be another good buy from the Panthers. The Eels recruited an assistant coach who has lifted that team. We could do the same as we are a club with a large talent base.

Assuming he'd want to come here yes?

Sounds like you are avoiding the question. Do you know for sure if he'd want to come here, what with our very small cheque book?
