WT Player Recruitment & Retention for 2020

Huth is workmanlike,but looking at the Sharks forwards yesterday..they run hard at the line,have impact in defence,and thats where we need to be...in the top 8
Not sure Huth can do that

Cutting the squad numbers might cause hurt for some clubs (this will likely scupper any long term recruitment strategy.) Cutting another 32 players out of the game when you're talking about potential expansion seems counter intuitive as well.

At risk of sounding like a broken record, we need a dynamic, ball playing lock. It's one of the key components we're missing. Someone who can tighten up the middle whilst offering an alternative (or link) in attack. Look at the teams doing well and their 13s. Victor Radley, Cameron Murray, Isaah Yeo, Tino, Tapine, Saifiti, Nathan Brown. Any of them would walk into our pack.

I like both Twal and Eiso but neither should be playing lock. I like Sam Mc in the second row, I think playing lock would blunt him. If we can't keep Harry, all in for Brandon Smith for 13.

**2021 losses:** Harry Grant (Storm), Chris Lawrence (retirement), Benji Marshall, Oliver Clark, Matt Eisenhuth, Elijah Taylor, Robert Jennings, Dylan Smith (all unsigned)

bit dirty on ET and Eisenhuth being let go. both love the club and have sacrificed plenty. I know it's a business and there's plenty of planning and dollars involved, but both are squad players that would do a job for us for years to come.

We need players who can dent the line and make post contact metres.

I certainly think ET has had a good year. But I ask whether they would get a run at Roosters, Raiders or Panthers and find myself saying no. I'm sure they'll both get a new contract for next year at a bad or average team.

correct, the same major problems we have for years: porous defence and weak, non-aggressive excuse for forwards!

They wouldn’t, but neither will the players who take their positions.

Fair point. Who is replacing them?

Perhaps best to wait til recruitment for '21 and beyond is completed. Then we'll all have a better handle on our prospects going forward. Whomever we sign you can certainly rely on the Telegraph NRL morons claiming we've bought the wrong guys or that we've paid too much.

Once December hits I'll do a new thread for next year like the last two years. Just waiting until after the season ends and things have settled. The club will likely announce which development players are moving into top 30 contracts. Should pick up a name or two along the way.

Thought i would review if JAC came back to the Tigers who he would know from 2016.
Must state surprised with how little playing group left from that season, see we have already had a mass clean in 4 years.
Of the players that were there at the same time and now,

* Luke Brooks
* David Nofoaluma
* Michael Chee-Kam
* Josh Aloiai

Interesting...
