WT v Knights round 1 ‘25 predictions

Time to get this thread pumping, with api suspended im hoping for (pending trials):


1. Bula
2. Turuva
3. Toa (don't love it but want Turuva to earn the centre spot)
4. Olam
5. Skelton
6. Galvin
7. Luai
8. May
9. TDS
10. Pole
11. Fainu
12. Seyfarth (don't love it but best option until proven otherwise)
13. Bird

14. Latu
15. Hunt
16. Klemmer
17. Sione

very good team with room to improve at 3, 4 and 12 and 13 likely to break down in a stiff breeze.

Oh and by the end of the year Tim Johannsen will be NSW and Australian captain

I get it. You earned it though. Glad you got your dream in life. You came to the right place here. There are ubiquitous others here on your planet right in this space. For me personally, it's too easy. Living off off other peoples dreams. But I must say I respect your dream. Please understand. Total respect. I wish I had it that easy. Just was bred differently i guess.
 
Anyone else think Naden is in for a breakout year?

Instead of going off the rails, he’s come back and worked really hard this off season… been given a kick up the arse

I have a feeling he’s in for a big one

Until he gets a rush of blood.
Needs a muzzle.
 
This is just left field , but I wonder if it would work .

Play API at lock if young de Silva has a great game in round one , api is a great defender and his call skills around the ruck would be fantastic, BUT it would only happen if de Silva killed it in round one . Would also show the kid that he has a future at the club , we could also put latu in the 14 shirt , getting these gun kids into the side would only benefit the team .

It’s just a thought, but looking out side the box

I think there will be times through the year where we have them both on the field doing this for sure mate. Hopefully we have the coaching ability to figure out when to do it. We have had two 9s on at the back end of games chasing points, but it always seemed desperate rather than tactical.

I know the stats don't lie, however I would suggest he was poorly managed on the field and tried too hard playing longer minutes without a break as he lead the attack and defence because we had nothing else. This led to lots of missed tackles and breaks as he was fatigued. With a better roster and good rotation this year he should miss less. I can at least accept him missing tackles because he tried against Stephano who just did not try..

Bit of a distorted stat for players like Api tuck who actually cut down a player with grass-cutting tackles quick off the line for other defenders to finish off the tackle after Api falls off them.

Not saying this is a great way of defence but he does bring linespeed and does most times bring the player to ground for others to finish off the tackle.

This may or may not be true. Remember he wasnt real reliable at Penrith either and their defence was rock solid. I do agree he has been misused here.
The point was though, I wouldnt be moving him to a new position based on his defence.
