Your Ideal 2017: Farah, Taylor, Both or Neither?

@Benjirific said:
My ideal would be Taylor out, Farah spends his last year sharing the role with Liddle, Liddle gets exposed to NRL, can take the reigns around Origin and let Robbie have his farewell tour while still allowing our long term combinations to develop.

Bulls eye

What has Taylor done to warrant not being here next yr?

Yes, his selections at times are bizarre, but he's getting results. Last yr we finished 15th, atm we sit in 10th. We keep improving and we finish in the 8\. I can understand if we were still bottom 4, but we are making progress up the ladder. And being a little over halfway through his contract you could argue he's making good progress, all the Farah crap aside. Where we are on the ladder compared to last proves it.

So as I type, twenty six forumers have voted for the coach to stay, whist seven went with a retaining the former captain option. A resounding result, even at this early stage, with the swing meter bouncing off the scale.

He had a mandate to fix the defence based upon the BS he dribbled during his job interviews. He failed miserably.
He destroyed our attack last year and only turned it around because Teddy and Broses demanded it.
He consistently picks players out of position when specialists are available.
He doesn't punish under performers quickly enough.
He has a public vendetta.

The bloke can't coach to a satisfactory enough level.

I took the softer option, as I didn't want to come across as too unkind.

If like to see Taylor finish his contract without any Farah influence for a year, then see how it's affected things… If it's the same or worse, Taylor goes and we don't look bad as a club for other coaches by letting him finish the shake up he was obviously employed to do...

If we have an option as was suggested, then we should part ways.
Nothing I've seen inspires me to believe he is the man to take us forward.

Couldn't have said it better myself, plus he has no idea about man management, and I vote see ya to both.

I'd hate to be stuck in the trenches with Taylor .

I wonder how his under 6's team are going

I bet they leak points big time !

I guess that's where we differ, I've seen and heard plenty to suggest he has what it takes to take us forward. The ability to make the tough decisions regardless of fan backlash is the main plus for me.

That will pass next year …. Team selection is perplexing and positional movements during the match baffling ... As was seen last Sunday.

What will pass next year is the negative influence and inability to play to the coaches plans… We are left with what we have now due to a bloke that can't toe the line. So if it means the coach being able to employ his structure without anyone working against him solely because he thinks he is a club legend and thinks he knows better for him and not the team, then that's fine with me. Win lose or draw.

This is a direct quote from the genius coach we have in March 2016, NRL.

**_""We've got to get our defence. If we want to play in the semi-finals you've got to improve the defence.\
\
"We finished 11th in defence last year which was a big jump up from 16th the year before and we want to go again, we need to get higher."_**

Second worst defence in the league, edge defence that is non existent with no accountability, baffling decisions with players (ET playing hooker, Rankin playing hooker, Lovett in the centres, SOO hooker in reserves). The only thing keeping us alive this year is our amazing young players that he stiffled in attack last year. I think thats more than enough to not have him around in 2017\. Good riddance.

We missed 41 tackles last game against a team which can't attack …
Taylor's full of it !

Wow. Considering the comments on here, I would have thought the poll would be strongly anti-Taylor. I guess there's a less vocal majority.

I thought it would have been pretty even. But 86% wanting Farah gone is pretty telling.

Taylor doesn't care if we make the 8 or not but it's perfect for him to subject the youth halves to pressure football.
If they make the 8 that's their reward.

They need experience and this is how to give it to them.
JT is here for 2017 and that's that.
