I'm joking ....I'm joking but how many blokes do you know that refuse to do housework of any kind
Or when they go out the wife can't drink because he is .......
Or the bloke goes on bloke vacations while the wife looks after the kids
Or doesn't help with homework .....
The partner might love to do all this but can't .......the hubby couldn't cope
I have female friends in these types of relationships and they tell me regularly how unhappy they are. It is a real shame that people feel threatened by your post Hap. The conditioning of women to accept this and men to be blind to it starts very young, and to pretend there is no issue just shows the power these roles have over people's rationality and perception.
Too true and in a society that so many woman have to juggle full time positions and the vast majority of child rearing and other domestic duties, the disparities are so often glaring. The least we can do is talk to them and let them know that we care and for the worse cases, offer sanctuary, as individuals, community and governmental.
We as decent males have to be role models, particularly around the home to stop the rot. **I know that I gained a lot from my father's input.**
Me too! Dad worked at night and mum worked during the day. Dad was home during the day so it just made sense that he would cook the dinner, pick us up from school and do housework and washing when necessary during the week. There was no arguments about male and female roles or ridiculous stereotypes, both my parents just did what was necessary to keep the house and the family running. And this was 40-50 years ago!
I find it very sad that nearly 20 years into the 21st century we are still having to try and find ways to end gender inequality and abuse. In fact, inequality and abuse is probably worse now than it ever was, despite the 'advances' made and the greater opportunities afforded to women to participate in the public sector these days. I honestly think that women enjoyed more freedom during the late 60s, 70s and early 80s - then something happened to turn it all back around - I blame MTV lol.
It was interesting, I recently saw a picture of a group of young women from Pakistan that was taken in the 1970s - they were dressed in western clothing, going to uni with their books & backpacks, smiling and laughing. It was compared with a picture of the young women in Pakistan today who were dressed head to toe in burkas - no smiling, no laughing, no education opportunities. It was a very sobering shot and evidence to me that this reverse of freedom & equality for women is indeed a worldwide problem.
@ said:Let's get back on topic which is we have a culture where if you perform well on the field commentators make you a legend or a hero. A minority consider this entitles them to behave in a manner towards women which is totally unacceptable in a decent society and unacceptable to most rugby league players. It is time for the majority to speak out and get rid of the nongs.

So your saying that my wife and my mum aren't happy and it's the patriarchy or something that doesn't make them happy. Righto then. Unfortunately I don't believe you.
My wife didn't come from a family where mum did everything at all.
My wife just came home from the shops. She did Christmas shopping. She seems happy enough to me.

But i'm a TRUE ALPHA.
Cook, clean, deso driver, take care of my woman... all whilst still wearing the pants.
Wouldn't dare raise a hand to her as her dad would probably murder me but because I love her too much to upset her.
She's got herself a good deal.

It is a tough subject as I have had family members caught in either side of the extremes 😢
In general, what % of men see women as their slaves and the lesser sex do you think?

Demps …..you wouldn't raise an hand to her because her Dad would murder you ...**..mate your better than that\
\
You shouldn't raise a hand because you love and respect her too much** .......biggest thing about relationships is knowing when to walk away and compromise ......calm down and put yourselves in your partners shoes for a minute .......sometimes you need to think outside of the square when it comes to relationships .....
We just clicked up 27 years a few weeks ago ........
Back to the topic though Zane needs to treat women like he would treat his Mum or would want his Mum treated .....end of story

lol, as I stated in my post mate…
I am a lethal martial artist trained in the ways of hand to hand combat... I know exactly what I am capable of and when to use it.... and against women, unnecessary.

Bravo gents…you don't hit your women and you help them out around the house...just like 99.9% of the male population with a brain.
No man supports this type of behaviour from Musgrove....I really don't think his issue is a male issue...it's an idiot issue and thankfully, we have laws to bring men and women that are violent to justice. Men that do this are despised by the male population. Men like this are bashed in gaol. It just goes to show, the worst of male society takes issue with this behaviour.
I think the reason men ark up at what you say happy is because you talk in absolutes...."In life generally too many males see women as their slaves and the lesser sex , when they try to break that stereotype some unfortunately cop it". I for one am tired being lumped in by association with YOUR stereotype of "generally too many males". Give me a number...what does generally even mean? How do you quantify that remark? Making women believe the lie that they are highly likely to be thrashed by their partner for not doing the dishes or accepting eternal servitude is disingenuous.
To show you how offensive your post seems to others, just replace "males" with Jews, Blacks, Muslims or some other group.
Your commentary makes it sound like it's over 80% or something, when the data shows it's less than 1%. Of course, 0% is desirable, but you should know, across a population of 24 million people, it's unlikely any crime will get to zero. In fact, name me one crime that has been eradicated?
You're so blinded by your opinion that men are this way, that you felt the need to explain ("mansplain" even) to Demps that he shouldn't raise a hand "because you love and respect her too much", but the bloke already said that in his post...in fact, verbatim he said exactly that and you missed it.
I'm just tired of the view that all women are perfect little specimens and men are oafish apes. I'm tired of the man bashing and unbalanced commentary. Instead of bashing men, why not show point out a role model you respect...let's celebrate good men, rather than focus on the bad ones.
Rant over.
