It's only mid-range in my list of favourite forums to read after the team has taken a loss. Favourite is definitely Souths - bunch of whiny doomers who want to sack everyone all the time. It's hilarious. Parra is probably the worst: incoherent, illiterate and with a very strong streak of unashamed racism.

Personally I don't give a stuff about his salary. He has played for us for years. He has consistently been one of our better players. He will not get a massive contract renewal.

I'm not sold on keeping Brooks but you would be nuts to think you are going to pay him 1 million dollars a season and Hastings 500k. I can't see any club including ours being that stupid.

It might be happening right now but it won't continue.

Focusing on his salary is the wrong way to view the situation. You have to state he is worth say 500k and that is all you pay him. If he goes no worries.

I reckon he has been pretty good this season again. I'm not convinced that we retain him though. I'm 100% convinced he doesn't get a top tier contract with the Tigers again.

I still want to see a AD/Hastings halves combo.

2. David Nofoaluma
3. AJ Kepaoa
4. Starford To'a
5. Ken Maumalo

6. Adam Doueihi
7. Jackson Hastings

That backline lacks speed in the outside backs especially on the wings but with a gun fullback I reckon they'd score plenty of points.

Agree with some of Ur points but value for money in our current system is very important.
Brooks should be offered bench spot value.
Have him as a utility if you like.
It should not and never be again "his team"

Brooks gets the 100k long service discount plus I'm sure he will take a haircut at next contract if he is happy in halves with Hastings
Your man Douhie will likely be looking for the big pay day at next contract, maybe Dolphins might come knocking

He was doing his job distributing from the middle, just like Hastings is doing now. It was not his job to do the creative stuff he is doing now, that was the job of the fullback and 5/8 in the structure decided by the coach.

Agreed. Doueihi plays with passion and some skill but he doesn't play enough. Durability is the issue and if he is not at that level, you either punt him or ask him to take a significant pay cut.

Doueihi is remembered well better than he has played…

Really. He was clearly our best player when he was on the park and it wasn't close. Sure he has a lot of flaws. He gets caught out defensively. He is relatively slow. He takes the wrong option at times.

He was still the guy most likely to come up with a big play.

Surely he is a massive keeper as is Hastings.

Good for the young man. Apparently this is how the NRL wants the game. The weaker clubs now have the juniors pilfered at a very young age by expansion teams.

Hey guys, don't you think the Brooks bashing is a dead end topic.
Nothing we say on this forum is going to change things one bit.
We're rehashing the same for and against about Brooks daily on the forum..... it's crazy.
I'm really starting to worry about some of you guys.
The fact is, Brooks is going to be here this year and most likely next year and as I said, what you keep beefing about is not going to influence the powers to be one bit.
The position Brooks and AD play will be determined through necessity more than anything.

I just commented on the other thread. How can a club like WTs afford $150k albeit for a talented young player at that age. Apparently this is how the NRL want it. It's sad for the SW of Sydney because we need more young men of his quality coming through our ranks to the NRL.
