Wests Tigers Coaches

Why? Why do you feel they need to explain themselves to you?
I'm interested to know....

They do the things they do because they believe it will ultimately get them what they want - Which is results. I assume you want the same.
Maybe he's keeping Brooks over Hastings to entice Moses back? Easy to say players don't come to clubs for other players - But that's rubbish.... They 20-30 years old - We all wanna work with our mates at that age.

Anyhow, Maybe he did tell you Magpie - And you just weren't listening.
I've seen him in multiple interviews where he states that the Halves have to have some wheels (speed) to take advantage of the room created by the forwards - Could that be the answer do you think? I would bet it's at least one of a few...

As a customer / supporter of the club, I don't (And have never) felt like they owed me a personal explanation for anything on field really - Doesn't mean I agree with it, Or like it - But I am a customer, I don't own the joint.
I've certainly asked questions around sponsorship and membership validation in the past, But outside that - I have no say in anything they do with staff or squad, Nor do I require an explanation.
I think they owe us some feedback sometimes because without us members and supporters they wouldn't even have a job.I can spell then I just hit the wrong key .Thankyou

If Tim Sheens is so sure that Brooks can run the team better then Hastings than why doesn't he get ask the boss or whatever and tell us why. This club treats us like mushrooms they keep us in the dark and feed us you know what..It's about time they started giving us some information about why they do things
I think it’s up to 14 players we’ve ditched this year, he’s telling you what he thinks. And he’s right.

I would suggest that you objectively re-watch our games this season, take some notes and you just might come up with the same decision as me and my namesake coach did, as to who serves our needs as our best halves player.

Probably no need to hear it from him afterwards.

They owes us nothing. Our recruitment has just started for 24 and it looks like we are going hard after Moses as our halfback based on POM comments.

Brooks hasn’t been extended either yet - Sheens has said they will talk to Brooks & AD in Jan.

People need to chill. It’s clear we will wait for what our preference recruitment options respond with and then look at what is left.

I have re_watched all our games and Brooks did nothing to convince me he was better at running the team than Hastings.he just doesn't know how to finish off a set most of the time

Sheens won us the wooden spoon last year, our performances deteriorated badly after Madge was sacked.Sheens made the poor coaching appointment, released players without replacing them and did not seem to support the coach appointed.
Agree with this.

But we got rorted against NQ, Penrith and Saints and poor Kimmorley had a wretched run with injuries. He had the side going okay when they beat Brisbane, even Walters thought so but lost key players.

At least the Fonz will inherit no pressure.

He and we need to have his ego massaged because he will need to take risks with tactics lest he pull something off.

Bread and butter tactics won't work for us.

Sponsors, corporates and the media fund most of the team. We overblow our contribution as members.

Plus, info out in the public domain that doesn't need to be there, weakens the team. I want to win, not create distractions.

That’s more than fine. We just need to cross the Ts and dot the Is on everything, and all the top teams have good, reliable kickers but we don’t.
Only adds to our problems.
You know my edict, focus on fundamentals ;
Kick goals ( conversions and penalties)
Make sure penalties find touch
All kick offs go 10 metres
Play the ball correctly
No unforced errors
Wear clean underwear in case you get injured( sorry that was one of my dear old Mums)
We’ll see what happens next week. Talks with a reasonable kicker who plays 7.

From Lee's latest interview, it looks like they (the club) basically concede that they've dropped the ball and the most pressing issue is our roster - that previous administrative oversights have caused hindrances. That it's always been a major setback for achieving any strategic objectives and therefore onfield success.
Lauren, this could be a watershed moment, could be the break we’re waiting for?
Not just telling us about their honesty but actually being honest. This is huge in the scheme of things.
I want to see more of this before I get sucked in though.

Great question.

I feel Sheens is getting rid of the dead wood this season and next and putting systems and players in place for a realistic team to be fighting for the top 8 in 2024/2025.

Next year we have 3 new players that played in this year's Grand Final. If we can land Klemmer and Bateman they are two quality players who have played at SOO level and Test Level.

We also have the Centre of Excellent in place so that should bear some fruit in the future.

Seems the juniors have some depth so in a couple of years the good ones will be making their way to NRL.

Like all long suffering fans I hope we see marked improvements in 2023 including a better style of play instead of 5 one out hit ups then a silly bomb on the 6th tackle. Better defence, players in motion and second phrase play is what I like to see.

Api at hooker will give quality ball and encourage the forwards to get on the front foot.

I like to see players like Junior Toupou, Daine Laurie, Charlie Staines, Starford To'a, Brandon Tumeth have breakthrough seasons in 2023 and show the Coaching panel they want to be there for success.

Also like WT to be a place quality players want to come too.
You are spot on, and we must be realistic in the time it will take to turn this club around.
We have only bought a few players, our halves are basically the same, and our backline is a worry . Another half is obviously on the shopping list, and until these issues are fixed, it will be a slow recovery. But we are headed in the right direction
