Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Interesting trivia off topic. The crowd when Parra won their first comp was 57333. Turn that upside down.
Interesting fact that. I wonder if they slightly fudged the crowd numbers to achieve that result.

One thing you can't dispute is that it took them 34 years to win their first premiership but it has been longer than that since they won their last.

Mitch Moses will probably be a very old man when they win their next.

I have zero expectations for this guy. I believe he’s too tall for league and of wants to have an impact he needs to be heavier - more around 115kg.

The guy will be all legs so easy to bring down. Union boys can’t defend.
Besides all that no one will be able to pass the ball to him being so tall.

Happy will back me up on this one for sure.

Actually his holy cross coach moved Moses to Fullback and play Brooks at Halfback and said words to the effect that after that move he really started to take the lead and dominate games.
At last we know who is responsible.

That said, why on earth would we keep going with that Jnr grade coaches decision.

Yeah, don't mind much if Moses stays at Parramatta, as this year was their only shot at a premiership with this squad for mine, and they got blown off the park early on.

As for the upside down numbers, whatever.

I hope he is. But the expectations of a second rower in league and Union are so different. League second rowers aren’t tall enough to play league. League second rowers are more athletic than Union second rowers.

Brad Thorne is the exception to the rule and in my opinion is the most successful dual international of all time. Reason being he played in the second row in both games and what he achieved.

Hopefully this bloke is Brad Thorne MkII
One of the best, and the hardest RU forwards, was Kevin Ryan. I spoke to payers who played against him, and they all said-- frightening ! EX heavyweight boxer, and SAINTS enforcer.

Haven't seen him other than in a single pre-season photo, but immediately thought that this guy looks like a footballer and fast. Seems that my first impression, albeit simply from a photo, was fairly accurate.
Will send you my photo, can you please say some nice things. Never been an athlete except for run up to the beer fridge and back.

No doubt he’s a loss but they are perfectly set up for a young talent like Soni Luke to come in, with solid player Mitch Kenny as a mentor. Hard to see them falling out of the top 2-4.
Context.
Mitch Kenny is 24
Soni Luke is 26

I dunno, my only criticism of Brooks is that he has seemed to lose the ability to strike the ball long distances.
His play style hasn’t changed a whole heap since high school though he and Moses created a lot of attention for what they do in broken play not in structured play. To me that’s where they have both failed to rise to the top. Even Moses has a lack of arsenal when his team isn’t rolling agaisnt a sound defensive unit.
