It's because we live in hope @hank37w haha you know that as a WT fan.

One of my pet hates re highlights videos (often compiled by managers) are they often just show attacking highlights. It'd be great if they showed defence and kicking game also.

Always suspicious of highlights videos, I want to see the bad stuff in their game because invariably that is the bit we get when they come here.

- waqa blake was offered at this stage deal wont happen for a player trade, may happen for a $$$ fee though before aug 7, jake unlikely to be at the club next year

I hope by only considering a fee for Simpkin that the club has some genuine signings and need the openings in the top 30. Otherwise it doesn't make sense.

- holbrook more likely to replace dean young in NQ
- dogs arent in the race for fainu’s, commited to burton at 6 and sexton at 7 for next year, saving all of their money for haas

- simpkin to parra could happen, early word was waqa blake potentially swapped

- laurie begged to go back to penrith, tigers offered a 1 year deal, panthers 1 year plus team option

- noffa is being heavily shopped, club has said no guarantee of first grade next year

- blore shopping is now off table

Historical media reports indicate Ben Hornby & John Morris are off contract after this season at the Rabbitohs, Steve Georgallis is in the 3rd year of a 3-year deal at the Cowboys, while Josh Hannay still has another year on his deal at the Sharks.

So if Holbrook is out of the equation, we may stand a chance of landing one of Hornby or Morris or the very experienced Georgallis. We would have to entice with a much superior $$$ package and probably advise they would be main Assistant Coach.

EELS LOSE YOUNG GUN HALFBACK

The Raiders have reportedly poached one of the most in-demand halfbacks from the Eels, with Ethan Sanders signing a contract with the Canberra club.

According to the SMH, the young gun will join Ricky Stuart’s Raiders from 2025, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.

Sanders starred for NSW in the under 19s Origin and was awarded Player of the Match honours in Parramatta’s SG Ball grand final victory.

He remain contracted with the Eels until the end of the 2024 season, but Parramatta powerbrokers reportedly may allow him to depart early.

Sanders would have faced stiff competition for first grade minutes, with both Mitchell Moses and Dylan Brown signing long-term contracts.

Sadly Laurie has lost all interest. You can see it in the way he plays now.
Naden may similarly be wanting to leave. Which is actually quite sad because Naden can play, can tackle better then almost everyone below 6 and really is what we need long term.

How can this deal actually be signed off?
Is it different rules for junior players contracted long term but not on top 30 contracts. If so god help us with our juniors.

I think we need to stop considering "the Benji factor" as a positive. It's more likely a negative.

I strongly support a small fee and the vacancy created in our Top 30 or one of our juniors. It is the only way we will keep them.
