Personally, I’d have kept them both, but by 27, given TDS the reigns, and Api take a backseat role. However, that won’t happen. Just don’t see the logic in letting TDS go to give Api an extra year.Enough for a guaranteed starting position in 18 months time?
Did Harry Grant demand to play ahead of Cam Smith?Imagine if Storm took that attitude with Harry Grant when they had Cam Smith.
No. Neither has TDS.Did Harry Grant demand to play ahead of Cam Smith?
What has the club decided?I thought we were past decisions like this one …obviously not
Because API is better,I don’t see it as trying to dictate. I think he’s within his right to explore his options. The bigger question is why is the club prioritising a guy north of 30 over a 20 year old? No other club would.
to let him negotiate earlyWhat has the club decided?
Ultimatley its up to Tallyn
Harry Grant wanted and was happy to serve an apprenticeship. That's the key differenceImagine if Storm took that attitude with Harry Grant when they had Cam Smith.
I agree. TDS to the dogs for sure. Gus won’t be able to stop laughing.Blind Freddy can see the Bulldogs are angling towards offloading Reed Mahony and the one position where they do not currently have any emerging stars in number 9.
Yes they are rumoured to be looking at Bailey Hayward as their number 9, I’d say they would be more inclined to keep Hayward as their number 14 if they could snag a talented young number 9 such as Da Silva.
Do you know how many players have left clubs because they felt their paths were blocked? You make it sound like a devious act. Why is it an ultimatum to say he’s going to explore his options if he feels his path is blocked? He’s not belittling anyone by doing that. Totally different to Galvin. Not in the same universe.Because he is better, and it's not his decision,
Similar to Galvin, he is giving Benji an ultimate on API get rid of him or I leave.
This is clearly the preference of the club too. And 99% of fans.Personally, I’d have kept them both, but by 27, given TDS the reigns, and Api take a backseat role. However, that won’t happen. Just don’t see the logic in letting TDS go to give Api an extra year.
No one knows what will happen. Maybe TDS does an ACL or breaks his neck. Every action is a calculated risk. But 9 times out of 10, you go with the guy 10 years younger. This is clearly the preference of the club too. And 99% of fans.
The logic is that TDS being a top-line first grader is not yet a forgone conclusion. What happens if Tallan's development stalls next year and Api signs with the Bears?
And another 10kg of muscleBrian To'o says hi. Even Freddy likened Luke to To'o last night. That's his ceiling. Just needs another 12 - 18 months.
If anything we have learntAbsolutely terrible decision.
The club hasn’t learnt anything.
If we are smart we will loan him out the rest of this season to Newcastle and get KPP in return...ultimately if the club chooses api , fine , whatever . why is tallyn given permission to negotiate with rival clubs NOW ?
if this is anything than a loan deal we are a meme club and do things other clubs don’t
You thinking what I'm thinking?Remember in all of this discussion ...
1 Api's preference is to stay.
2 Tallyn's preference is to stay.
3 If we extend Api & Tallyn does like another club's offer, Richo WILL want something favourable in return to release him for 2026 (not just KPP for the rest of this season).
4 We do not have an adequate backup hooker for 2026 if Api goes down injured - IMO Hope is not NRL standard & Haywood won't be ready until 2027/28.
He needs spells back in Cup with bigger minutes to be able to develop properly and build, fitness and strength. The club’s position is obvious. Benji doesn’t rate him, and would prefer a mid 30’s Api. It sheds light on why TDS has spent so much time in KOE lately.
He should, but has proven that he isnt capable of delivering on this.Remember in all of this discussion ...
