Why? He hasn't earned it. This is why you get these entitled little pricksAgreed thatās fair with some caveat to increase when api leaves. But tell him the time on the field will switch with api in his last season!
I was sitting in the front row right behind where Tallyn was constantly warming up last Friday night and I can assure everyone he was like a caged Tiger, full of energy and desperate to get on the field.Cut the BS.
This kid is not tanking or pouting or creating division.
Such a pathetic statement lol..
Big reason the fins have been doing well.Would Josh Kerr be a good signing ? Some experience in the pack
yeah , i donāt buy any of the crap , he loves being here and he wants to stay . heās supported the club growing up , but not being given the role in 2027 itās fair enough to see whatās out there. more disappointed with the club not being able to convince him heāll still be in our plans at that time whilst also retaining API . even his manager said itās not a LG situation .I was sitting in the front row right behind where Tallyn was constantly warming up last Friday night and I can assure everyone he was like a caged Tiger, full of energy and desperate to get on the field.
There are no signs of any disconnect between he and any of our other players, in fact he and Terrell look extremely tight.
He is nothing like Galvin, he bleeds for our club and heās one we should be desperately trying to keep.
We bought one of the best halves in the world as well as other experienced talent to win these types of games. It's true we aren't in the 8 and that is what we would hope after the last decade (winning is just unrealistic at this point) but as someone pointed out most losses have been by 4 points. Think back to the last few years and there is no doubt there is improvement. While not want I would really like it does give me hope.
why then is the club so solid on Api, 2027 change over sounded the smartest thing to do . What happened ? tick tick, wow , that puts another spin on the gossipTelling TDS to wait 3-4 years to get a starting spot when he could walk straight into a first grade team right now and call it selfish for him wanting to leave after his contract EXPIRES just isnāt fair and completely biased for us fans to think that.
TDS has made it very clearā¦. heās happy for the next 18 months to work under Api and grow into the position then hopefully take over in 2027 when APIās contact expires at 34-35.
Donāt see a problem with that⦠the kid wants to stay but wants a chance to play. The club coming first want him as the starting 9 and he still made it clear he prefers stay with us if we can give him the chance to play in 2027. Absolutely crazy for us to blame Tallyn or shame him for wanting that.
The last few games he has played he looked excellent and very comfortable within the top grade, so much so that up to 4 clubs are already circling trying to get him NOW and more clubs are expected to come to the party. I think itās quite obvious in 2027 heāll be ready to be a starting 9 in the NRL. If Iām being honest, heās ready now for the NRL.
So I really hope us as fans donāt blame TDS for this request as itās completely reasonable, we as a club made the decision to prioritise Api. I love Api and I personally think heās been our best signing this last decade, but heāll also be 34. Picking a 34 year old to try squeeze 1-2 more years of him instead of a junior who will look more than ready to take over in 2027 that could be our long term option for the next 15 years makes me scratch my head.
Heās willing to wait 1.5 years instead of going the Galvin route and forcing himself out as he knows he could get a starting spot next week at an NRL club. Expecting him to wait longer than the 18 months and risk himself getting injured and derailing his career doesnāt make sense for himself.
I think how Tallyn has handled this is perfect - he has made it clear he wants to stay and wants a chance to play allowing the club to make a decision between himself or Api and it seems like we made the wrong one if you ask me.

He was ! . He never used to wrap players with his arms and dogged contact . Which made zero sense when you saw how big the guy was . Now heās starting to understand how big he is , heās making tackles . And sometimes whacking blokes .Apparently Doueihi was the worst defender people had seen too.
where did he go ?Apparently Doueihi was the worst defender people had seen too.

Especially in this competition.I love the āimprovementā lineā¦
Like itās not a bare minimum after
We bought the most successful half in the last 4 years!! Plus a bunch of other decent players, our best juniors have another year behind them and we got rid of some dead wood.
Coming off 3 spoons no less
Slight improvement is the very minimum we should be seeing on the personnel alone.
Itās not an achievement or something we should be bragging about
I think that time has passed mate.I think there's a way we can make this work.
Penrith did this, with Mitch Kenny coming through.
Api would play in the 9 jersey but from the bench.
Love to see a way where we can bring this in down the track with TDS.
I'm still hopeful a deal can be done where we keep both.
did you forget cowboys asked us if they could have api for next year like a month agoSo 4 clubs are currently sniffing around with more expected to enquire. Would Api get the same amount of attention? Pretty doubtful. Other clubs donāt prioritise players in their mid 30ās over 20 year olds. So why are we?
They keep saying he wants to stay.I think that time has passed mate.
Whatever happened external to footy has made the situation untenable.
Mate ā¦. Itās 2025 . How is this reasonable ? Serious question? Why is this decision being made now ?Telling TDS to wait 3-4 years to get a starting spot when he could walk straight into a first grade team right now and call it selfish for him wanting to leave after his contract EXPIRES just isnāt fair and completely biased for us fans to think that.

Interesting post tbh.Mate ā¦. Itās 2025 . How is this reasonable ? Serious question? Why is this decision being made now ?
And also why wouldnāt he want api around to understudy him ⦠also provide competition?
Also what player is guaranteed a spot in any team when theyāre not a marquee player ? The best any club can and should offer a player like TDS is first crack .
So I donāt get why if he truely wants to stay , that heās not willing to compete for the spot.
I think thatās bullshit because he doesnāt want to get tarred with the Galvin betrayer label ā¦
Heās got IMO the best number 9 in the comp not playing for the storm to learn off , and he wants it all tomorrow .
I also think his defence is shithouse 1 on 1 , way worse than APIs , and he doesnāt have anywhere near the same line speed , ruck control , ruck manipulation. He shoots out quick , and heās good at attacking markers close to the line . His service is crisp as well . I do not think heās at a level where we would and should consider picking him over api at 32 . If youāre talking in 2 years time , youād want to hope heās surpassed him . But I donāt believe thatās The issue .
IMO this is more to do with Hayward than api , because that kid is coming fast . If Tallyn wasnāt here , heād already have been tried in KOE .
I think Tallyn is looking over his shoulder at Hayward .. and striking whilst the iron is hot making the tigers really , make the choice between him and Hayward and framing it as Api.
Because I think IMO Hayward is a better footy player potentially than Tallyn , and more importantly is far more similar to Api than TDS. TDS is Damien Cook ā¦. Hayward is Api , Farah etc .
It smells like bullshit to me ..
What do you do though man ? They should have won every one of the last 4 matches . In fact probably 7 or 8 of all our losses . The team is a good footy team . They just donāt know how to win ⦠itās beyond frustrating to watch ā¦I love the āimprovementā lineā¦

no reason why he can't come back when Api retiresThey keep saying he wants to stay.
I hope we're letting him see what's out there and we can at least try and keep him.
Hopefully we haven't let him down.
Either way I'll be sad to see him leave.
He looks a really good player.
