Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We've actually got one of the better depth charts of juniors aged 16-20yo in most positions.

A few positions of need in pathways we could do with some external recruitment is:
  • Halves
  • Prop
Marc Tannous, Curtis Lakeman & Jhevon Lele are some progressive halves in our ranks. We also have Cohen Benson managed by Enrichd (Richo's son) so I am sure he'll be given every chance. Lele on the flip is managed by Isaac Moses.

Christian Taupau-Moors is highly rated & we have a few other 18yo & 19yo props who have powerful physical attributes such as Leviticus Tovia & Luani Tuifua. But another couple of powerhouses with good engines & leg speed wouldn't go astray especially for the Balmain squads.
that gives me a little more hope thank you , how do you rate young Godinet just out of curiosity if you’ve seen some of him ? is there something there ?

Our biggest problem I believe is the support and resources Benji has in his stable. Employing his mates as assistants is simply not good enough. We need experienced assistant coaches.

Benji can clearly get the boys motivated, is charasmatic and has some pull in the player market.

This is the one area of the Galvin saga that I could see from Galvin's point. The coaching staff is sub par, and as a young up and coming player, you want to be coached by the best with good resources.
I agree it was a poor call getting ya mates back. Not so much Morris, but then to double down with Hodgo who’s already had an average stint here was a bad look. Any young decent footballer would be looking at our coaching staff and asking why?
Benji had a good window of opportunity to get in good experienced assistants, as he basically had a guaranteed job for a few years, but the more losses he has the less time he gets, and then any new assistants bought in to help arrest the situation will be looked at as his replacements.
Still live ya Benj

Just provided some comments on him in the Pathways thread lol

I don't care who the assistants are ... I just want the assistants in the pre-season to remodel our attacking structures (depth, players-in-motion ... structures to put the defence in two minds every play) & defensive intent (hit hard & with purpose, not just this pussy hold stuff lol).

And I want the NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg coaches to work together as NRL transition coaches, do development plans with all individual players to help them improve & progress from Flegg to NRL, ensure these players meet KPIs inside & outside of training, bring in specialist coaches to assist their development.

thanks mate , I came across his instagram randomly without seeing any of his actual game time , he does a lot of tutorials and footy videos seems really committed to his training

Serious question. Does Benji have a style? Is there a trait that anyone can identify within our attacking shape that gives us the answer as to how we want to play. At the moment it seems like he is still working that out. In saying that though. The ingrained ‘Tigers way’ that you want to be rehearsed within the club through the grades kinda can limit our individual attacking strengths. I think the systematic approach to a game definitely makes sence for defence and setting a foundation but the Anthony Siebold ‘have a play for every square of the field coaching format’ can become a little frustrating for the players and can make them feel / play restricted.

I don’t know how you would know now the other club’s intentions around the players being released early?
I didn’t say that. I said they would have got word through management of their players intentions. They would be available November 1. Then it would be on the current club to decide if a final year at the club is worth it for them.
Anyway all speculation. A lot of clubs feel better about releasing players during the off season.

if benji gets sacked there’s a high chance Luai walks
Nah. He might use that as an excuse if he's decided he wants out. I don't think there's too many players who want to play in a losing side, regardless of how much they claim to love the coach, or how much of a fan they were of his as a player.

Didnt Richter go off one game because he had a headache?

What was thenstory with his name too ..that one always confused me

yes, champion @innsaneink, it was a game at Leichhardt Oval and in the moment, it was one of the funniest footy memories.
Makasini Richter aka Jackson Kaufusi aka Lipina Kaufusi - goddam, no wonder you're confused!

The initial rumour didn’t say subject to the other club releasing them early …it said they were already lined up for 2026 …

Ive got mail from a pretty reliable source that there are 1-2 VERY GOOD signings lined up for 2026... Obviously they can't be discussed publicly, but if true, I am somewhat glad we can "Do a Gus"... Time will tell!
