Shopping Nightmares

Pretty well 5 years for major appliance faults, so I never even consider getting the extended warranty bullshit that they try to sell.
Yes, the legislation covers well beyond many extended warranties. Each case is looked at on a case by case basis though.
We were advised to look up how long our item would normally be expected to perform reliably, I.E. its expected life span. In our case it was seven to ten years but was displaying faults at just over two years.
We were also advised to try to find evidence online if our item had a history of the problem we were experiencing and it did.
So our advice was that, at least superficially, we had a strong case. In the end our item was replaced at no cost to us, outside the extended warranty period, which we hadn't taken anyway.
It is well worth looking up the ACCC guidelines if something breaks and your warranty has expired.

Yeah my blacklist is long, I had to go back to Telstra when I moved to the mnc, I got sick of standing in the north western corner of my property just to make a call.
Don’t get me started on the NRMA! Those barstidos ruined my credit history when I was in the right and it was too hard basket, a case of doing some work to help a customer or tick a box, waste the company’s money and go home for beers.

I’m sick of sick of having to give my personal deets to every website, and of course they will protect my deets. The other day we had a woolies delivery and it turned up by uber and the bloke wanted to scan my license into his phone. As if. We had a 10 minute debate, he called the supervisor and she told him to take the goods back which had already been delivered inside my door, and she still told him to scan my deets or go inside my door and take back the goods. I gave this bigger bloke a look 👀 and he stepped backwards and said not today I’m not, and as he’s walking away I can hear his manager going off like cars alarms in an earthquake.
Fk big companies they just like to strip us of our hard earned so some dickhead can sit on a private beach and look back at the super yacht.
Scan your license to deliver groceries - wtf? Why isn't asking who you are enough, they are delivering to an address they already have. maybe can you show me your license (I'm reluctant to say that though).
Most courier drivers to ours don't want any id at all. You Michael is the question - yes is enough.
Woolworths need to wake up.

100 percent agree. Apparently that's where a lot of shops make their best profit (anaecdotal talk only there).

It was an Uber directive not Woolies. Woolies have started to use them for small, short timeframe orders.
I’ve been getting groceries delivered for 10 years, Woolies have had their moments too, but they are generally pretty good guys and you get to know them a bit.
Although they are blood sucking bastidos like the rest of them.

We only have Woolworths n IGA in Nambucca so no real competition. Woolworths meat sucks so I buy it in Coffs when I go about once a month.
IGA is exxie compared to Woolworths for almost everything except adult prozac. Over 60s get 5 percent off on Thursday. Often as cheap as or cheaper than Dun Muffy.

I just shelled out 2k on new laptop etc. The old one is older than 4 years but I had a friend upgrade it a couple of years back. It has stopped some of the options. I use a wide screen monitor and I couldn’t share the monitor with the laptop and found out this is another way they get you to buy new, restrict your device from taking updates. They are saying the older laptops “can’t support” the new windows. They are making landfill. It’s nice to have all this new gear, but I would have been fine with the old one too.
As I type this on my old iPhone 12 mini that is now probably only 4 years old and due for retirement, what number are iPhone up to now.

Yeah bloody hell. That was something the Mrs and I had to come to terms with quickly living rurally, is the little amount of options and competition when shopping, and even then, the range in stock is limited. I used to google, pick the product with a couple of fallback options, and then go and find out none of your five first choice options aren’t in stock, but they got this display of a crappier version if they can find a box.
Mikey, shopping on the MNC it is painful, but hey, how good is it really though? Nambucca is a beautiful place to be, I had a mate who’s parents got divorced and his mum bought a property out at Missabotti, so regular goldtop runs from the blue mountains and tripp out in her barn the boys decked out. Oh and another mate lived in the old church up that same road.
I will never leave the ocean again Mikey, the MNC does it for me.
