Can someone convince V'landys that is the way forward, or as I have said elsewhere, is he just giving these clowns enough rope to hang themselves.

The man seems to work in mysterious ways at times and surely he hasn't seen this whole debacle as an issue about Balmain.

I am not arguing about that.
I am arguing about a continued push to remove HBG without first seeing how the next 3-12 months unfold.
I am optimistic there will not be any more boardroom issues, I could be wrong and only time will tell.
As I’ve stated numerous times I have absolutely no issues with yourself or anyone from the WTF or Claws Out podcasts.
I love the podcasts and have formed an opinion that you are all very good people who obviously love and only want what is best for Wests Tigers.
Being involved in making the independent review a reality you would obviously be unhappy with the recent events more than most and again that is totally understandable. If I was in your position I would feel exactly the same way.
Unlike some people I do not believe you are doing what you do because you hate the Msgpies and want remove their history, I believe you are genuine and based on some of your comments on your podcasts and on here,I believe you do see some good that comes from Wests Leagues / Magpies.
There is a certain element of people who are jumping on your bandwagon for the wrong reasons such as their hate for the Magpies, never wanted any involvement from the Magpies and will not be happy until the Magpies history is removed and forgotten.
Then we have the fair and reasonable element that are very unhappy with the recent events relating to the independent board being removed and would prefer HBG be removed, but can at least acknowledge they have poured a lot of money into the club and are not going to kick and scream providing we do not hear of any boardroom issues moving forward.

No one hates the Magpies. Plenty hate Balmain though. Not wanting people who care more about the Magpies than Wests Tigers to run things is not hating the Magpies, it's wanting whats best for Wests Tigers. No one is saying anything about Balmain, its all about the best thing for.........you guessed it....WESTS TIGERS.

The issue mate is there is actually no line in the sand creating separation between the 3 entities especially with the new changes & monopoly decision rights HBG applied last week.

You’re right it shouldn’t be an issue but it is because of how we are structured at the top level of the Wests Tigers. Whilst it shouldn’t be a problem running separately in the current setup it’s very problematic & instigates emotion/challenges.

Whilst that remains the direction the Wests Tigers will continue to be one built on emotion & motives rather than the Wests Tigers success long term.

HBG CEO mentioned in what is deleted - strategy & unity. Whilst the board structure is setup as decided last week unity will continue to be problematic.

HBG have a genuine separation anxiety disorder issue hence the recent power play change. That is a major leadership & decision problem.

The biggest issue is HBG have chosen to ignore all this and keep this path active. They are leading by example. This is why each year it creates this Magpies v Wests Tigers emotional angst crap. It’s actually avoidable & controllable. They actively choose to fuel the fire and have zero care of the impact it has on the Wests Tigers & Magpies fans.

This then creates this whole issue of Magpies and Wests Tigers (often viewed as Balmain which it isn’t) because of how this stirs up.

Its quite unfair that you call those who want HBG gone NOW, as being unfair and unreasonable.

You are yet to explain:

- why HBG deserve another chance after years of failure and mismanagement
- why HBG sacked the directors.
- why Richo wasn't sacked if he is the criminal you say he is.
- why the CEO of HBG publicly endorsed Richo after sacking the directors.

If you can adequately explain the above, then maybe it might be fair and reasonable to give them another go. Until then, it's completely reasonable for the average Wests Tigers fans to want them gone.

Then you have the whole recent powerplay which seems to be for no reason. So in that vaccum of information, people will come to their conclusions. Especially when HBG have acted with dishonesty and backstabbing quite a few times. Even if they said something, I doubt you could trust it.

There in lies the problem. I think if HBG started doing the right thing with the independant board and re-implementing the report, the fans will start to regain some trust that they have the members and club as the priority, not an agenda.

Wayde and Andreacchio forewarned all when they were ousted by fellow HBG goons and to date they have been pretty spot on.
PVL's interference may be a deterrent, but that doesn't mean that they have shifted course given the moves they have made to get to this position.

so...let's assume the sky is blue...and we can all see that and as a result we believe that. Is that what you would call "group-think"?

So I would ask...do you think HBG have a proven track record of failure? Or would you say the last 10 or so years has been good quality club management? It really us that simple.

and a subject of intense speculation and conflict. While the current majority owners (Holman Barnes Group/Wests Magpies faction) have stated they are committed to the Wests Tigers name, there is a strong push from some elements to eventually revert the NRL team to the Western Suburbs Magpies.

Current Status
  • "Heritage Deed" Protection: A legal "heritage deed" currently prohibits the club from changing its name or mascot until at least 2030.
  • Controlling Entity: The Holman Barnes Group (HBG), the financial backers of the Western Suburbs Magpies, owns a 90% majority stake in the Wests Tigers and recently asserted full control through a boardroom purge.
  • Official Statements: HBG has issued public statements denying claims that the Balmain brand is under threat and insisting on "stability, unity and success" for the Wests Tigers.
  • NRL's Position: The Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC), which owns the Wests Tigers trademark/brand, is reportedly reluctant to support any removal of the Tigers brand, as they want to ensure the inner-west area remains an NRL heartland.
