Jahream Bula #269

But it’s not luck . Nor is it luck to have a grubber kick pop up into the hands at the right time 90% of the time . You practice this stuff . I wasn’t even a half , and we used to practice is it when I was coming up (the grubber kick popping up when you need it .
You bounce that ball enough times off the post you can predict where it’s going . Like chucking a tennis ball at a wall in different ways , after a while you know if you chuck it on this angle the ball is pooping out on that angle. It’s a rectangular shape . Like what was said if it was round , then it would bounce off in different directions . Much harder to predict . Like aiming for the mortar in a brick wall with a tennis ball, or a crack .
@HUNT 101 What’s funny ? That’s how you practice ? Have you never done that as a kid bounced balls off the wall and practice your catching ?
You do realise this is what people do right . They practice and practice and practice the most mundane monotonous shit . This is what people are referencing when they say fundamentals… Well this is what heaps of kid did coming up in my age group . We had guys come out of the area in soccer like Harry kewell, Bosnich , Christian Vieri , heaps of cricketers , heaps played Sydney grade , footballers … too many to chose from … i dunno . Dudes used to sit at lunch whilst talking spends hours spinning the ball off their finger tips , catching with one hand , one hand grab bounces off the wall etc . Is that really that unusual to you ?

Haha Buddy, I don't need you to try and educate me ,I totally understand what you are trying to say. But I stand by my earlier post, we got lucky on a few of occasions yesterday.
Good chat though

For sure we had plenty of luck and that’s not usually the case but there is no doubt we were the better side by a country mile and I think Luai’s kick went where he planned it to go. Luck in football is a funny thing it tends to go to the team that is dominating

Yeah Absolutely

I would not be wanting to swap Bula for Drinkwater when you factor in age and projected improvement over the next couple of years.
Purdue is the only fullback who could replace and be an improvement on Bula.
Unless we could make that happen, Bula is a must keep.

Look, Bula is Bula.

There are many names that would be greater with a greater pay packet.
Walsh, Edwards, Fa'alogo, Teddy...

Turbo and Ponga are better, if fit.

I really don't see the fuss over keeping Bula... Every players agent will have a young speedy kid wanting to be a NRL fullback to get Fullback money. Will the be to Bula's standard... Maybe??

Centers are hard positions to fill, Fullback isn't.

Some lucky tries in the 44 points scored, I reckon AD should have been stopped seriously, the intercept, lucky , even the ball hitting the post . Thats 18 points any other week might not bounce our way .Also the momentum with the ref blowing back to back to back six again calls really helped gas the cowboys. Take 3 tries away we still win . More wins then losses this year,we definitely looked more organised and hungry. Perfect way to start in front of a massive crowd 🐯☝️💥

We usually have a lot of tries scored against us in that way

Maybe it's a sign we are going to be one of the better teams this year
