The ball hitting the post wasn’t luck . The panthers practiced that all the time, and luai has brought that to the tigers . Benji said so much in the presser
Also intercepts are not luck . The wingers would have been told you jam and come up early as Drinkwater is balls to the wall , all the time , so you can have a lot of joy off him . I think that’s what happened in the try LL let in when all he had to do was number off .

He’s a big reason why they lose a lot of games . When’s he’s on one , they’re like the best team in the comp , when he’s not … he reminds me of Benji 07/08 when he wasn injured .

The melb kid has dwarfed him already ,pardon the pun,and so has Raiders and eagle young guns
We have several young guns of our own who may or may not make,and atm Tracey is at least as good as Bula
We tend to overlook shortcomings of loyal players,but guys whom we heavily invest in and decide to jump ship get both barrells of honesty

Agreed but I thought his support play was a little lacking. He will need to be better if he's going to benefit from the offloads.
All in all however nothing to be to upset about.

I am a fan of Bula's as well but i am hoping the club can change from being a bottom feeder and taking leftovers to actually being competitive in the player market and players want to go to and stay

Rewatched and analyzed the game.
Watching the game live v review see things differently.

On review Bula for the most part did his job, chimed in on both sides of the park and covered in the middle for support. Luai probably bombed a try not using him.

His bomb cleanup was mixed but mostly positive.

My only concern is his lack of hunger to run the ball out of the danger zone / across halfway like the best do. He did start doing it late in the game but we need him to do it more during the game.

Yet to see all this acceleration improvement that Fabri talked about and he had some half chances to show it.

Yeah, million dollar players should be highly involved in most aspects of there relative roll.

I reckon he has it in him, well hoping he does, there were signs yesterday, so maybe give him a few months to prove it.

In a game where both halves score, both second rowers score, and both wingers score, your fullback just playing a safe game is perfectly fine.

I think we’ll see him come up clutch when we need him, and hope that the club manage to secure him long term.

Exactly. It is a definite tactic and he did it perfectly.

I posted in the 3,2,1 thread I think the padding should be round. Still able to do what he did, but it's a bit harder to.

By luck I mean we got the bounce of the ball , he might attempt to hit the post every week but bet He doesn't score every time ,we got lucky .

But it’s not luck . Nor is it luck to have a grubber kick pop up into the hands at the right time 90% of the time . You practice this stuff . I wasn’t even a half , and we used to practice is it when I was coming up (the grubber kick popping up when you need it .
You bounce that ball enough times off the post you can predict where it’s going . Like chucking a tennis ball at a wall in different ways , after a while you know if you chuck it on this angle the ball is pooping out on that angle. It’s a rectangular shape . Like what was said if it was round , then it would bounce off in different directions . Much harder to predict . Like aiming for the mortar in a brick wall with a tennis ball, or a crack .

Grubber kicks are a good example....I rememeber practicing these as a kid and you just knew 95% of the time when itd pop up after dribbling along the grass....not always, but usually
