I think Josh will get first crack at 5/8 next season.
He didn’t perform poorly when he was pairing with Brooks last season.
Benji was the fly in the ointment. His attack was good but defensively a liability but that been his problem through this career.
Remember Sheens used to hide him on the wing.

Your right about first crack at 5/8 for the CC side...Madge does not rate Josh at all...

The great thing about AD is his versatility,everyone forgets how well Brooks played when JRey was alongside of him...JR for 5/8 and AD will slot where Madge sees fit..
I certainly hope AD can produce his best form, he is a very good footballer...I will wait until the preseason is over before casting my opinion where people should play...Madge seems to have a lot to choose from this year especially with the young guys,JTJ,Tamou included in the side for more go forward..

Problem is he’s going to be on the back foot being suspended for round 1.

The biggest issue is one of our highest paid players is a 6 and I can see a push coming form the club to get more out of the high salaries we have.

I can see Josh getting a “mid season move to another club “ eg . The cowboys . And Mbye moving to Brisbane .

I really think the club will start with Reynolds at 5/8th. I personally would like to see Ad given the offseason and trials at 6 to see if he has what to takes.

I think (hope) Madge is looking to the future. AD showed more in the game vs Parra than Reynolds ever has with us.

Im not disagreeing with you but think there may be some pressure to make better use of the higher paid players.

Maybe they can help mow the field - They could mow a quarter of the field each.

We might be able to run Simpkin as a lock, similar to how Harry was playing for us, for short minutes. You could have both him and Liddle on the field at the same time. I honestly think it would work, assuming Simpkin's defence is solid.
- Start Liddle.
- Bring on Simpkin around the 32nd minute. Take Liddle off.
- Bring Liddle back on around the 55th minute. Leave Simpkin on, move him to lock.
- Take Simpkin off around the 65th minute.

Means Simpkin can get quality game time, around 30-35 minutes each game, and play enough dummy half to influence the game. When he is at lock he would essentially only be there to tackle. It also helps the bench rotation immensely.

Hmmm - maybe, though if we sign Laurie for 2021, I'd run with Mbye at 14. Covers the whole spine and centre. Simpkin doesn't even turn 20 until next October - would hate to see him blooded too early and get a raft of injuries ala Liddle. Give him some more time at CC playing against men and debut him off the bench half way into season if needed/warranted.

I think AD's best position is 5/8. Probably a yard short of pace for centre, doesn't quite have everything that makes a good fullback.

He has got a good passing game, and he is strong. Let him hoist the towering kicks and get Brooks back to kicking like a proper halfback.
