Hope the DT pulled that figure out of their butt, way overs.

Those figures are crazy - we are supposedly 500k for this year with souths throwing in 150k and 600k for next year with souths throwing in 50k. Which means we are paying him 1.4 mil for 2022 and 2023. he better be showing that superstar potential by then.

POMs explanation doesn't add up - either he is wrong or DT are are just making up figures.

If its a choice between trusting the DT or @THE_POM i know who my money & house would be on. Thanks for all you info POM

DT make **** up all the time. THE_POM has never been wrong. The only times he has been "wrong" is when the situation changed since providing us his info. At the time he posts, his info is always 100% correct.

DT (Crawley) are making up figures or the manager is.

Crawley has been running with a daily story that Tigers were holding out over $25K and trying to lowball Souths; that Tigers were being obstructive and Doueihi's family were upset that Tigers would be so stubborn over "small change". Then he tells us, no, Tigers have now done a deal worth $2.5M over 4, which equates to $625K p.a.

No hell no way Tigers make such a stance on a player 1 week then roll over to the tune of $200K p.a. the following week. No way. Tigers had an top value for Doueihi, that much was evident when you combine all media sources, and given it's a 4-year deal, one can only assume it's the duration of deal that got it across the line, not a sudden collapse of resolve from Tigers.

The POM has explained this in an earlier post.

Great if true, last week our spine was rated in the bottom three, now with AD, Benji, Brooks and possibly Harry the hooker things look very good

No I get that, but a previous poster was asking whether or not the paper was right or The POM was right. Lots of new folks around here don't necessarily know POM's reputation.

Also, POM notwithstanding, even with just the DT's own reporting you can tell the figure they are posting today is rubbish.

When this is made official, can someone please abuse Clarkey's Rugby League Column? The guy deleted his post about the Roosters signing him. He has lost the plot, letting the "fame" go to his head.

It's been happening all summer, someone with connections hears from their connection "we are confident" and reports it as fact, to try and get the scoop.

A lot of "confident" scoops going home empty handed the last 6 months.

It’s not adding up for me either? From The Poms info ie $450 avg each year. (Perhaps only first 2 years?) Based on a $2.5m contract.
I’m seeing our outlay as..
$350
$550
$650
$750

Or if it is a $1.4m contract..
$350
$550
$250
$250
Any ideas?

450 a year is 1.8, not 1.4.
Add around 200k from south's and I'd say the amount in his pocket is around 500 a year.

They did, terms have been agreed, waiting on official release from Souths.
With what Souths have paid/chipping in his deal will average out to $450,000 P.A

For mine, at what he has shown to date....that is slightly overs but not bank breaking. If he comes as good as Avo & others feel he will, it will be peanuts.

Does it matter...Pascoe assured everyone Wests Tigers will not pay overs ever again for players...

Anyway looking forward to the official announcement...there will be pressure on Doueihi to hit the ground running given all that's gone on...hope he slays it..

Based on what the POM reckons, that's a reasonable outcome. $450K per annum for the next four years for a guy who could well be our next 5/8 is not unreasonable.

Souths would have to top up only for when they had him contracted right? So 2020, 2021, and 2022. But not for 2023.

I'm not sure what his contract was, didn't think he was signed for 2022.

This is all a guess but our cut is probably something like
325
500
475
500

Give or take 50k a year. To be honest I don't think fans need to know more than the ballpark unless we know for every player
