Objectively

AD has been under valued / under respected his entire career.

I dont support the refusal to play but he could have rocked up and played like garbage which others do.

That's where you need a director of Football, an on-call sports psych, a counsellor or something like that to get his mental space right.

As others have said, this should have been dealt with 4 years ago when it happened with Noddy.

The problem is that we are hiring elite footballers but giving them the support network of park footballers.

This isn't shifting blame away from AD, he should know better but each year we are having issues with players because they're unhappy here and because we don't give them the support that other clubs might.

Losing sucks, but there are other teams that have lose more games than us, but deal with it better.

Why would the Tigers go through the judiciary process, if they knew he wasn't going to play?

Well that is crazy, who paid for the judiciary appearance, did AD go without the Tigers consent?

Just to fill in some gaps for you.

On SEN with Vossy - AD said Benji leaves it up to the players to decide whether they will fight the charge. Direct quote from AD. I don't know who pays, but I assume the club covers the cost...not sure that matters in the scheme of things.

The team must prepare as if AD is NOT playing. Latu was going to be suspended anyway so Javon needed reps in case AD wasn't getting off.

Once AD got off on Tuesday night, Wednesday is a day off for players. AD was told Thursday morning about playing lock.

You are building a narrative that AD wasn't given sufficient notice, but the club had no idea who would be available until Tuesday night and Wednesday was a day off.

Given that Javon had trained there and Doueihi has played at lock before - it was a way to get them all in the team together. I don't see the problem.

We have scored 22 points in 4 weeks. We needed to try something different.

It's fine to keep blaming individuals when they leave or are about to leave, but that's useless. You still need to do an internal review to understand what we could have done better.

Doohickie might have done him a favor by making it about himself and not the team.

I saw that and thought it strange Adel suggested Manasse coud be a good leader at the club. Sure as a mentor to help keep the younger guys on track thrugh his life experience, but the guys just getting out of prison, im all for everyone having a 2nd chance, we all make mistakes. But to come in instantly as a leader i found that comment a bit strange. I thought leadership was earned through trust, sacrifice and dedication. How could he just arrive and be a leader.

I.just watched it then and it reminded me of someone here mentioning Manase as a mentor a few weeks back...i ridiculed whoever it was...seems.they were parrotting the pod coach all.along.
I wonder how many others opinions are influenced in such a way...ive noticed a few.

Doueihi's manager is savvy and switching him from the halves will impact his contract value. The argument being if you're not using him in the halves, he could earn much more at another club as a half now, hence the request for release. The new commission will also be welcome.

I think lose a few games is understating the impact it would have on our team. Not saying AD is the answer at halfback, but I do not think Javon and Latu are near ready to steer the ship. If you lose Api, you have 3 players with less than 10 full-time games experience between them in your spine (Javon, Haywood and Latu).

If the team was guaranteed to stay fully fit, we MIGHT be okay but with depth being tested so frequently, they could find themselves defending inside third-choice players and very limited attacking options around them.

The market will value him according to supply and demand. His manager is well-aware of interest generally for halves across the NRL. It's bucks up for him. I'm not suggesting it is right but that is the way his manager will view it. You use him or lose him.

I’d imagine that conversation wouldn’t of happened at all beforehand.

Benji, knowing that AD was charged and out for one week, or up to three if he challenged placed AD on the extended bench in case and named a team on Tuesday with the available players.

Tuesday - Thursday AD and the lawyers discovered they had a case and chose to challenge it.

Tuesday - Thursday everyone trained playing for the worst case scenario.

Thursday they found out he was cleared. AD obviously felt that he was going to be an automatic late change to halfback and Benji mad an on the spot decision to keep Javon based on this weeks training. Hence the boil over.

I don’t think Javon would of been named this week if AD wasn't charged. I think it was a forced change that Benji wanted to see in action as the week progressed.

I think there was a mix up in Benjis / AD’s expectations once he was cleared.

Benji should give Doueihi what he wants and he can play half back or 5/8 for the magpies for the rest of his contract. We need stamp this crap behaviour out now, otherwise this talk of "standards" and "culture" mean nothing. I'm sick of people claiming that these guys are just young men and to take it easy on them. They earn more than anyone else their age so suck it up and grow up and be an adult. These guys know that they have plan A, B, C etc that they can use to get out of their contracts (look at Galvin). If we don't stop this behaviour soon, there will be no club left. Enjoy reserve grade AD and you can live your dream.

His manager would have tested the market and there is little doubt he could place his client with another club. I hope he stays but the temperature on this matter needs to be turned down.
