Was absolutely superb last night, had worries with Twal the last 18 months as imo he has been poor and hasn’t hit those levels he had during the Cleary era as he barely ran the ball and lacked much impact.

However, you can tell he wants to make more of an impact attacking wise and looked really hungry for the ball which we’ve never really seen from him and he carved there forwards up with the metres he was making! Really inspiring game from him, played like our forward leader and seems like he’s developing his game to the player we all know he can be!

Liking what I saw, could play himself into an origin squad if he can continue to contribute to his attack game and not rely solely on his defence....

He's our best forward

I know you show big love for your Lebanese Demps, But that statement is ridiculous.
He's our most consistent - Nothing more.
He's never been our best by any reckoning....

I know as fact, Most other top forwards in the game don't rate him at all, not hard to tackle, doesn't hit in Defence, No aggression, Nothing to worry about in attack... He's so 1 dimensional its not funny....

Great guy, Works hard, I Love him to bits... But he's coming into his 6th year in Grade and has added absolutely nothing to his game - Bar minutes played.

If he's our "best" forward, Then you best not worry bagging any of the other players - ever... Because we're going nowhere if he's our best forward, No matter who the halfback is.

He should be a bench prop, That's his best position - At any other club, He might not even be that....

He's my first picked every week. He's a workhorse a d effective on defence, and while a bit one dimensional with the ball he also works hard on the ball. If every player did the basics as well as he did we wouldn't have missed the eight for a decade.

Not every forward is a Payne Haas or TPJ. Guys like Real have their place and are equally as important.

Agree.
Him and Stef are the mainstays at present.
Obviously Batboy is personal friends with the majority of forwards in the game, or did a survey, to know as a fact 'Most other top forwards in the game don't rate him at all'.

Yes... Well done...
You're comments here confirm what I have long suspected...

I don't need to do a survey, Or be friends with anyone....
I could've asked a couple at the pub - And they could have let me know the general opinions of him.
I could have even done that a few times!!

20 years ago in the game, There were those players that tackle everything and were mainstays of a pack.... Modern day, Those same players dint the line, set up tries - even kick field goals..

Again, I have no issue with Twal being in the 17... But if we're picking a pack around him - I have an issue with that.

I like him but he isn't great is he. I mean he ain't no Siro or Blocker. A good worker who if he has two dominant middle forwards around him does a great job. The problem is Tamou and Twal as 2 middle forwards on the park hasn't been good enough.

I reckon Twal is better than Tamou but you assume Tamou is captain and plays. That to me gives us an unbalanced pack.

I wouldn't have them both...
They're the same player (ish) - I'd probably have Twal over Jimmy, Although Jimmy has a few more strings to his bow.

Unfortunately, Madge doesn't call me at lunch time on Tuesday to hear my thoughts on the team

Might have something to do with the elephant trunk he's packing too ??

Here's another test for the new mods. How long will this disgraceful comment survive? Totally disrespectful of Alex and his partner and their relationship, @PJ

I just read an article on news.com on the same thing, but more explicit. Need to lighten up mate. Certainly not insulting.

I like Twal but he also has the worst strike rate for the opposition getting away offloads in our pack…Needs to improve stopping the opposition getting 2nd phase play…they all do…

His work rate is 2nd to none though…

Thanks for the laugh though…

I swear it's something we've struggled with for a decade now... teams that offload a lot routinely have success against us. Warriors and Eels always cause us issues with their offloads and it's like they're not even trained to try wrap up the ball sometimes.

I literally remember him passing the ball once in his time at the club. If someone can find more footage of him passing I'll eat my words, but i'd put money on the fact that he's passed the ball no more than 5 times :grimacing:

Great work rate though. If he adds offloads to his game, he'll play Origin.

I remember when the commentators started praising Adam Muir for his offloads...before you knew it he was offloading on every hit-up, regardless of whether it was on or not.

Having a joke, you clown.
You need to lighten up.

Well, your joke is not funny in any way at all, you clown.

But, that's ok, the mods on here have decided that they like your sense of humour in belittling and denigrating the integrity of a relationship of one of our NRL stars.

What a hero, you are. I hope Alex reads it and responds accordingly.

Hope he doesn't club me to death with it.

I don't need evidence of who my friends are, And at what level of the game they're involved at.... Not for anyone (Particularly a forum bot)
If it wasn't factual, I wouldn't have said it - I'm not here for clout....
And I'm certainly not about to name drop... Despite you trying to coerce me to with your school kid malarky...

Here's something you might fathom....
Has there ever been any talk of Alex Twal off to another club? He's resigned how many times?
First picked forwards for other clubs are sounded out by "better" clubs when off contract.... Case in point, Stefano being sounded out by the Storm 1 year into a 3 year contract... Dale Finucane etc, etc, etc...
Twal is our Liam Fulton... We all love him, No one else knows who he is.

So, in other words, you have nothing but your own opinion to back up your story … when you categorically stated that you can say “for a fact” what the majority of NRL forwards think of him.
Your comments here are now fully confirmed to be as I expected.
Well done!

You’re on fire - scratch and sniff sticker for you!!

Now let me break it down for you…
No - it’s none of your business who I know or who I talk to…

I never said it was any of my business.
I have no qualms with you having an opinion on anything you like and don’t care who you talk to.
You were the one that making the big claims ….without a skerrick of evidence when questioned.

Lol - I'm not asking who your info comes from and don't really care.
You were the one big noting yourself that you spoke 'as fact' for the opinion of most of the NRL forwards (not looking for clout?)
Then you get on your high horse and defend yourself when questioned.
Just like me you are nothing more than a 'forum bot' on here ... no matter how much you might like to grease your own wheels.
As for 'school kid malarky' :face_with_rolling_eyes: :face_with_rolling_eyes: :face_with_rolling_eyes:
You need to try harder ...that's a fact you can quote.

When asked what his goals were, playing for NSW or whatever ?

He said, honestly - I just want to play finals with the Tigers.

🔥🔥🔥

Yup, highlight of the podcast for mine. Sounded absolutely genuine too, not the old cliche.

Love Twal, you just know what you're going to get - and hearing him speak like that makes me love him more.

I like Twal but he also has the worst strike rate for the opposition getting away offloads in our pack…Needs to improve stopping the opposition getting 2nd phase play…they all do…

His work rate is 2nd to none though…

I swear it's something we've struggled with for a decade now... teams that offload a lot routinely have success against us. Warriors and Eels always cause us issues with their offloads and it's like they're not even trained to try wrap up the ball sometimes.

The Eels I remember had good success against us with Hindmarsh and co.
The Eels could play Fast footy like us but contain us. Now the Eels just outmuscle us and I like the Rivalry (Papallii cant wait mate).

But too Offloads. We used to offload heaps. The joke was Tim Sheens was the best Centers coach in the comp. As he turned Chris Heighington and Gareth Ellis into Centers!

Anyone remember Robbie Roccow?
A storm player that came our way. Guy had good workrate and what he would do is intercept/interfere with the first reciever.
This lead to him having the worst missed tackle record in the NRL, but it disrupted opposition play.

I kind of wonder if this technique could work now? Game is so fast, yet it seems teams with one playmaker can get disrupted.

Clearly we need to up our defense, Twal does hit hard. Hope he has a big season in 2022

I thought it was common knowledge Nathan Cleary was ugliest in the league.

Right up there.

I heard he had a chin implant.

Really? I heard he had a chin reduction surgery but this is the best they could do..
