Blake Austin in 2015

I don't get all the Austin love on here. He has stood out, at times, among a very bad bunch. He is like Gavet. The more he does flashy, showy things, the more people give him cred as something bigger and better than he actually is. He is a solid nrl player, better at the individual stuff than he is as a creative link player, but that's all he is. Good on him if he wants to get a start elsewhere. I, for one, won't lose a minute's sleep over it. He ain't the future of the Tigers.

No, that award goes to an over hyped, under developed kid that can't hit a moving target with his passes.

For mine 'the future of the Tigers' is one of our biggest problems. We hear it all the time and it dovetails nicely with 'Oh well there's always next year'. How about the present of the Tigers, or the Tigers right now? Right now Austin is performing. In fact he's busting it. Why should we look past our present to a future that my never eventuate?

A good Player, The Player with the best form should get the starting position and at the moment, for next Year that would be Austin & Moses goes to State Cup for the start of next Year.

At least he passes the ball…
I like Austin and I don't believe he would have demanded a first grade spot.
On the other hand, if another club guarantees him a position, he'd be crazy not to pursue it.
We would also be crazy to let him go if he's still under contract - being the most injury prone team in the comp.

Id rather a guy goes across the line and puts points on the board than one who too often throws wild passes. That said, Once again, he'll be let go I think to free up cash for others non deserving. Our team song should be Kenny Rogers song - The Gambler.

I like Austin but Moses to me has a much better passing and possibly kicking game. I'd play Austin at 13 or at left centre,

I don't think the question should be Austin or Moses. That's an easy one. The question should be who partners Austin. I'd take Moses over Brooks based on 2014 performances. Brooks faded horribly when Tedesco went down.

I agree that Austin and Moses are our best halves but I think Brooks is up there as well. We need all 3 out there for a while yet and I think Austin can play 13 or in the centres easily.

Thats a tough call when brooks in his first year at first grade played a full season as a teenager and moses played the backend of the season due to injuries.
Didnt brooks have the most try assisfs for us this year?
But it is a tough question when we need to try and fit 3 into 2

Moses and Austin in the halves next year,,he is a quality footballer.I would make him captain.i think he is a team player and very inspirational. I'm over Farah.

IMO, Austin is Players Player for the season.

Next year, he will be our reserve utility if he is still here. If he has an awesome off season, he might start 6.

As Ive said before, if we can keep him, I'd have him as a Farah back up long term, and on the bench for the 1,6,7,9 in the short term.

I love Austin he is a complete footballer who you could play 1 to 13 and he wouldn't let you down I hope he stays with us . its been said he may go to Canberra if so thanks a million blake for giving so much to the wests tigers .I see on the forum people are knocking brooks I don't know what they expect from a 19 year old kid in his 1st season in nrl at half please people give him a fair go .

Captain??? He's still learning the game himself, why would you pile that sort of responsibility on his shoulders.
He's not a bad player , but not that good if he wants to dictate where he plays , let him go. Next thing you'll all be complaining about is his ego is out of control

I would imagine Blake has been offered a lot more than we are paying him to move to Canberra, so I guess his management is trying to get him a release by stating he wants to play 6 or nothing. Blake actually strikes me as a bloke who would play anywhere the needed him to, so I this has been all started by his manager

He played off the scale today. If he's not with us in the starting side next season we need our heads read.

The thing i must say about Austin is , he has really matured as a player this year and you can tell that he has got his house in order away from the footy field and is really obvious . Away from the field he is Coaching a Doonside team i believe and has finally put his of field troubles behind him .
Gus always said this kid Austin playing in Reserve Grade at Penrith can play , and i remember a couple of years ago Gus stating that in a Live Telecast , during a Panthers game he said " Rabs there is this kid by the name of Austin who can play " and he reminded him of a young Fittler , when he was coming through . That was about 4 years ago .
Austin leads by example , just let's his Footy doing the talking .
Anyone reckon if i email Mayer in regards with Austin that i will get a reply or am i just wasting my tiime ?
He has won me over long time ago and i don't want to look at him in another Jersey and think to myself we once had him but only thought of him as Utility and the Club let him realize his potential elsewhere a bit like the (Fafita ) scenario we had a couple of years ago.
Thoughts?
