What some of those TRIES were around or over 50m..

He can score some tries. Benji can create something as well.

At 200k after Penrith chip in us it bad value? Mansour has no chance of playing at Penrith because they have promised Staines a starting spot to keep him at the club. Mansour ***is likely*** a better winger today than AJ or Momo.

I think you summed up exactly why we shouldnt take Mansour. Mansour *might* be as good or a bit better than the young guys we have, so we would sacrifice the development of these young guys for either no or a small advantage. Meanwhile it chews up a roster spot which could be filled by someone that fills a hole we need filled (2nd row/Fullback)

I don’t think he should be guaranteed a spot. I think he probably earns a spot given our current squad but in the medium term (1-2 years) you need to develop low cost young capable options like most teams have to come in and take his spot. I guess I’m saying he is probably a better winger today than AJ so he earns a spot. If those players develop then by all means he can play CC.

Kepaoa has demonstrated more in his short NRL career than Mansour has for at least a year.

This kid looks good. I don't understand why we need another winger. Sure we need a back-up but we have a fair number of outside backs now. BJ, Nofo, Talau, Momo, Roberts & Kepaoa can't all fit in. Why would we go for Mansour ?

Mansour would be a good option for a club who didn't have talent coming through but we have that talent. They are letting him go from Penrith because they prefer to trust their juniors.

He's a great talent but I suspect his best position will be centre. He is strong in defence one on one, he doesn't mind the physical confrontation, he has great footwork, excellent pace and his pass left to right is outstanding. I thought the pass he put on for Brooks' try against the Eels was sublime. The step, pace, swerve and final pass left to right made to look easy.

But...

https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/12/15/the-top-10-fastest-players-from-the-2020-season/

Not in the top 10 fastest this year

The best wingers aren't necessarily the fastest. JAC is one that happens to be very fast, but there are plenty of others who are decently fast but more importantly can break tackles.

Tuiaki wasn't particularly fast, neither was Richards, but I'd take either of them in their prime over half of those "fastest" players.

Agreed. I question the sanity and logic of anyone prepared to sign Mansour.

If Mansour is the answer we’re asking the wrong questions. AJ better for sure.

if the club does sign Mansour subsidised by penrith it does put the pressure back on Nofo to sign otherwise we have a ready made replacement.

Or it forces him out the door... could go either way.

You don't have replacements that are 5 years older than the player in question.

Wingers greatest strength is speed, this diminishes with age.A certain billiant winger has just joined a club on a 4 yr contact beginning in 2022.The winger will be 26 starting the contract and 30 on his final year. The fact is it is very rare to see a top class winger at at 30.The Morris bros. being the exception and on low salaries, Mansour is bad value.

Agreed. Story on Foxsports saying the dogs have gamble $4M on two wingers..... madness I tells ya.....

Hopefully Ivan taught Barrett how to rebuild.

Ivan didn't rebuild, Gus did.

They rebuilt after they sacked Ivan and he walked back into a loaded squad ready to go off.

Ivan was destroying our salary cap whilst said rebuild was taking place at penrith.

Will we get a Christmas present from the club this week.....my money is on a "yes".

Thanks for that(the optimism), as now am expecting nothing less than Nofo donning a sexy santa suit in making the announcement.

Laurie coming from the Panthers ? Anything else would be the present you get from granny each year ! Nothing spectacular !

Yeah the whole scenario seems almost premeditated doesn’t it. Kneecap a rival team while secretly planning to go back to your old team, which is building itself into a real premiership threat, very nicely. Then I think to myself why spend your energies trying to derail a club like WT who are no real premiership threat in the first place? If he’d done it to Parramatta or the Roosters I could understand.

"Parra" and "premiership threat" is a contradiction of terms

Not in the top 10 fastest this year

Well 3 broncos in the Top 10 and they still won the spoon.
Should of been an egg and spoon race and they might have won some title in 2020.

Fastest to last hahahaha.

Still doesn’t make nofo top 10 fastest this year. Even with his intercept tries

No way I would have thought Xavier Coates was the 2nd fastest player in the NRL
