@mike He can believe what he wants. He does not have a right to say it though.

He does...It's not against the law

Absolutely, but he has no protection if he wants to say it. His employer can dismiss him if it violates his contract which is what the ARU did.

Ah ok...I misinterpreted your initial comment.

On a side note, I'm no lawyer, but my understanding is that terms of a contract cannot Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon legislation, hence the challenge Folau is making through the courts.

I'd be so embarressed to support the Tigers if they signed Israel. Would rather come last. Thankfully I am sure it won't happen.

I'm not having a go, but why would you be embarrassed that a player has a view you don't agree with?

No worries dude. A big reason is I have plenty of LGBT friends. They goto the footy also. I don't think any player should be posting comments leaving them feeling not welcome in the supporter base, going to hell etc. When they retire, fine. Do what you want. But not when you are clearly representing the team. Thats my view.

Yeah fair enough...

Question though. Folau also said that Athiests, liars, drunks etc. were going to hell. That pretty much covers 100% of the fan base. Why aren't other groups so outraged? Why don't those groups feel unwelcome?

You were the one implying they were outraged. ("Why aren’t other groups so outraged?")

I can't say i've met anyone who has been outraged, but plenty who think he's an idiot.

all good all good.

It might have come across as negative towards you, but I wasn't having a go.

Just making a general point that I don't see what all the fuss is about...

The only bloke outraged was Allan Joyce ... pulling the strings of Rugby Australia from behind his desk at Qantas.

@weststigers there’s a difference between religious freedom and hate speech.

That's probably where we disagree. I don't think it's hate speech.

@Trevros it’s got nothing to do with left or right. It’s got to do with the fact that Folau is a moron with dangerous rhetoric. I’m glad he got fired and I hope he never gets paid to play sports ever again.

I'm interested to know if you think it's hate speech... and if so, why?
All he's saying is that (in his belief) sinners need to repent before they can enter heaven... that's every sinner.
He's also not telling anyone to spurn or commit any acts of violence against any "sinner".
To be honest most of the people upset by his comments don't even believe in Heaven, or God.
