Expected to see some blow ups from Simpkin fan boys. They must have copped the tip. Sure gone quiet compared to earlier in the seson.This is good business for the club and Liddle has the edge on the younger Simpkin right now.

Both are important going forward.

Positive news.

simpkin will be a SOO player for Queensland during his career it may well not be when it is with us though. I guess two years is a long time they may share the duties or they may not.

Is it a coincidence his passing from dummy half have got a lot quicker?

Further my point was during the game he kept making a dummying action which indicates he wants a quicker pass if you didn’t pick that up

Liddle would be the best hooker off-contract..re-signing him is a smart move ..means focus can be on other areas..

Good to see him commit to Wests Tigers..showing some form ..getting back to his best..NRL quality player..

Also edited that I made the point due to Liddle dummying actions he was making before passes live at the game. Shows a clear direction to pass faster probably given to the whole team BY THE COACH

Why do people have to make it a Simpkin vs Liddle thing all the time? Personally I'm keen to watch them both playing for us and working together.

Both have plenty of talent and plenty to improve on but both will be very important for us!

It's good that you're at the game. So am I.

And, you've explained that the increase in speed of Liddle's passing, as measured by you, was based on criticism from the coach. Terrific. Thanks for clarifying.

Just that I would be horrified if any player or coach would base any plans for change on the criticisms of anyone on this forum; me included.

Good move for both the club and Lids and also very pleasing to hear Tuilagi has been added to the top squad now - another smart move as he's been consistently strong for Wests and looks a likely backrow prospect.

Congrats to both Jacob and Kelma. I for one am excited to see them both extended.
Savvy work from the club to get Jacob locked in and a great show ow loyalty from him to recommit to us.
Looking forward to Kelma continuing to develop, he has the ability to be more than useful for us going forward.

I agree, plenty bagging Simpkin who has played 5 games for not being up to it, and they have a point, but Liddle has played NRL since 2016, and has some flaws in his game that good hookers don't have.
The club signed Simpkin for 3 years, and Liddle for 2, they must have an idea of what they want, me I can see one of them not seeing out their contract

Looks like he has just returned to his natural style to me. The quick passes off the deck out in front of the playmakers, being the same from his youth that had me excited about 2021 and looking forward to it over the off season.

To then see him playing a foreign engaging the markers style in the trial games stood out like dog's balls and was a very disappointing development. There were some adjustments made, not enough nor timely for mine, but it's great to now see the fruits of Jacob's game benefiting the side as a whole and none more so than Brooks.

We've now got a couple of hookers signed up for the coming couple of seasons and Simpkin for the third, so assuming both attain consistent NRL levels the club should be well served and if either is able to reach the levels thought of before they could have a beer, even better.
