Jacob is currently our best hooker. Despite being accused of showing him 'all the love' those of us who do think he is out best are really only stating that. How accurate his passing is, how well he tackles... I guess you can focus on the positives or the negatives of every set he plays, but I don't see anything that can't be coached, trained or managed.
And honestly, Simpkin needs more time in ressies to reach his potential. We can't be relying on him to carry a major load and we saw last year that he is not capable. A couple of years who knows? But he hasn't exactly been lighting up ressies either.
I understand you think he's not ready for FG but your joking if you think he wasn't dominating in reserve grade, he was leading the comp in many departments.
I certainly didn't see all the reserve grade games but I didn't think he dominated in the games I saw - at least not like the really good players tend to. Just my opinion though, I know he has plenty of raps from plenty. And I'd be quite happy if he turns out to be the answer TBH.
And, this is, in my opinion, a terrific response. You made your position clear, backed it up with some evidence but was open-minded about how thing may transpire. We need more contributors like you.
So if the evidence is in favour of your agenda is terrific? Jog on.
May i add "evidence", with the quotation marks.
Well, @sparci, I don't have an agenda. I just have opinions based on observations gathered through long term commitments to the club. I'm sure you're the same.
The thing that was terrific about the response, unlike yours, was that it made the point clearly, gave a basis for his/her opinion ("I didn't see all the reserve grade games ...etc) but was humble enough to consider that things may ultimately be different. No spite, no "I'm right and you're wrong" grandstanding, no blinkered agenda.
Basically, it has everything that yours doesn't.
