Team v Fiji Siktails in Fiji on Saturday 10am.

Interesting that Shane Sultana is the interim coach (Balmain SG Ball coach). Not sure what has happened with Leon Latulipe.

1. Logan Deininger 2. Cameron Kanaan 3. Mitchell Taotua 4. Maxwell Taotua 5. William Craig 6. Marc Tannous 7. Max Liles 8. Tom Fisher 9. Jared Haywood 10. Christian Taupau-Moors 11. Lachlan Broederlow 12. Solomane Saukuru 13. Jeremiah Leatigaga

14. Pheonix Godinet 15. Archie Duncombe 16. Thomas Epere 17. Harry Delaney 18. Byronn Laupepa
Re the coaching situation, I’m curious why Shane is now the Interim Head Coach and the reason for the change

Unless it’s as simple as he doesn’t have a passport to fly to Fiji 🤷‍♂️
It's a competition with two overseas clubs. Plenty of time to get a passport. No excuses.

I tend to think it's moreso that he's just not a great a great coach, and so Sultana is getting an opportunity to impress after doing very well with a limited Balmain squad.

I like the changes, keen to see solo's work rate in the second row

200% correct Jolls
Yep we need to get the football dept structure right at our club as well as the right people starting with the top down.

From what I understand Richo is performing that Director of Football & Head of Recruitment roles within his CEO responsibilities. And then both Betsey (GM of Football) & Benji (Head Coach) report to him.

Then Shannon Gallant (Pathways) sits under Betsey and all the coaching, S&C and footy operations staff under Benji.

I just wonder whether Betsey's role needs to be restructured so someone else can be brought in at GM level to direct Club Coaching & Player Development with the football experience, tactical nous of today's game from NRL to junior reps level.

This role to direct the pathway & skills/knowledge development of both our coaches & players. Call it the GM of WT Football Academy.

Betsey, from memory comes from a cricketing background? Maybe League is not his forte.
Betsey for admin. - cricket background.
Maybe someone with a better league background would be better suited to identify what isn't working?

Looks like we have lost another one of our promising pathways prospects in middle forward Jekope Sovau who was in the WT Jersey Flegg squad this season, Api's cousin.

I trust this is the same Jekope Sovau ... heading to US Dax in French Rugby.

Looking for one or two players to strengthen its attack in the center of the field next seaon, US Dax has, according to our information, obtained the agreement of the Fijian Jekope Sovau.

Also capable of sliding onto the wing, Sovau, born in 2005, is a powerful young Fijian currently playing in Australia. He might not be the only recruit in the center, with the decision-makers in Dax being interested in Biarritz's François Vergnaud or Catalan Apisai Naqalevu.

Of course, the only prop in the Uruguay flegg squad with potential to play first grade doesn't get a run and then leaves to go overseas
