I liked Joffa, Garner, Noffa and Seyfarth's attitudes this year. I know it can all be a show but they seemed to care a lot more than others during losses.

Yes I think he does care more than some others. I can't even remember which game it was now, but I liked it when he blew up that time when there was no dummy half behind him.

What are our thoughts on this big guy? I feel like he’s flown under the radar a lot so far. Hasn’t gotten much praise, hasn’t copped a serve, has just gone about his business. Does he get a pass?

Definitely, I’m a Joe fan

Uotikamanu is what I expected Joe to be. Joe is a big disappointment.

Really? He’d already played 100 games when we signed him. He wasn’t going to suddenly transform into another player. His age and experience range is what we need more of

Seems a quality bloke and genuinely puts in. If we get to a point where Joe is the weakest link in our pack we are looking ok.

Yeah I only watched a few matches where he played well and given that we went after him I thought Madge may have seen something special.

Anyway, happy birthday to Joe Ofahengaue.

You started it back up with wishes earlier, followed by my expecting a little more "oomph". That said, Joffa has been okay and hope that he enjoyed his birthday, along with improving at WT under whatever the coaching structure is next season.

Happy enough with him. He seems to care. I generally think he's productive when he's on the field. Don't get the complaints about him.

Joe O is a good player. He’s a prop and has to be used as one. He’s a good tackle 1 prop doesn’t need a fast play the ball. We use him to cover dramas in the backrow and he struggles wide.

Yeah, he can't be used as and edge player.

Exactly, he’s a good solid prop, and when used as one will play well as one!

The funny thing is the club knew this before they signed him, he was signed based on his stats when playing in the middle and the stats from his time on an edge were disregarded as we signed him to play in the middle. I have no idea why we ended up playing him on an edge when we knew he was terrible there.

Playing in his first season for Wests Tigers, a strong start to the season saw Joe Ofahengaue return to the State of Origin arena for Queensland in 2021.

Moving his family from Brisbane to Sydney before the season, Ofahengaue was eager for a fresh start and he immediately impressed on the footy field.

The representative forward played all but one game across the season, in which he recorded an average of 104 running metres, 31 tackle breaks, 27 offloads and made 583 tackles (avg. 25.3).

"Wests Tigers feels like home for me and I'm enjoying my time here," Ofahengaue said.

“The staff and everyone here have been awesome. Justin [Pascoe] the CEO has been very welcoming and ‘Madge’ [coach Michael Maguire] has been great for me. The players have also been so supportive.”

BEST TRY
Ofahengaue scored his first try for Wests Tigers in Round 5 against North Queensland.

WHAT WAS SAID
I didn't think about Origin. The only time I thought about it was when I said to myself if I get into this team then it is a bonus. I said to myself I would focus on being consistent and enjoying footy again. That's why when I got the call from Paul Green I was so shocked.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCE
Ofahengaue put in the hard yards at Leichhardt Oval against the Cowboys in Round 5 when he recorded 148 metres, four tackles, one line-break and 32 tackles (1 missed).

He also scored a try late in the game to give his team hope, however the home side fell short in the end.

2022 FORECAST
Ofahengaue will be ready to roll when he returns for pre-season in November and he'll be looking to build on his first season with Wests Tigers.

A strong start to the season could see him return to the Queensland side, however his sole focus will be on club footy as he aims to return to career-best form.
