Lachlan Galvin #277 *Megathread*

I meet him at a party in early 2006 after the grand final win and I was thinking what a pr!CK and he treated the wait staff bad but after I was thinking young dumb and full of come what an ego

But now I think he is amazing has really grown as a man and would be a great mentor to younger players
Benji did have a huge ego. But his stint at the Broncos really humbled him.

I agree. The reactions towards his family by people on here is pathetic.
I can understand where they are coming from. If I had a son playing in this system over the past 3 years, there’s no way in hell I’d be advising him to stay.
tucker . Almost any Australian schoolboy Jr has played in junior sides that have been winners and often becuse of themselves being the gun that makes the team a winning team.. NRL is tough . A baptism of fire and if GALVINS dad is not cognisant of this and able to explain this to Lachlan id be very very surprised.. stunned even

That’s not the point I’m making.
People on here have surprisingly short memories.

Galvin will not want to go to newcastle
you haven't put the pieces together yet.

Were not talking Adam Obrien newcastle. Were talking Matty Johns newcastle. Matty will give a TV star analysis of Galvin's football and instruct him where he is going wrong and what he needs to do right. This is class advice, nothing no one off the street can give:
"you see, when you are over the opposition try line...
Don't drop the ball"!

I mean where else will you hear that?

The only rubbish here is Galvins father IMO!!..and the avaricious manager
Totally unappreciative of the support and opportunity and player development provided by WTs,
loyalty factor /decency zero,...smarts even less having been offered a long term 7 figure contract
Unaware that we were in the top 8 when all this garbage broke out and were on the rise..had good recruits around him...no need to look for better opportunities,,they were staring him in the face!
Im thinking dad is Damir Docic 2.0
A greedy and unappreciative grub
How much is the price of fish again??
As I have said before I judge people after I have met them personally and he comes across nothing like what you interpret.

What I heard today and I believe it.

The Tigers never made an offer for Galvin. He and his management wanted out. Richo released it to the media and ended the relationship. His agent then went nuclear attacking Benji and bullying claims to expedite the release. Tigers oblige with a small transfer fee.

Very simple Tigers didn’t want the kid at the price and decided to move on. Had to save face to fan base after losing the big 3 historically. There is no way a contract offer is not made if you seek to retain a player.

His manager read the tea leaves and expedited the matter. It’s a weird win win situation. He’s 5 years away from star money if he ever gets there.

The rest is a smokescreen the 165k transfer fee and no offer was done to make sure he wasn’t off market. Salary Cap auditors hands would’ve tied if 1m offer made formally.

Tigers have done everything to ensure he is released this year. The actions are clear on both sides.
sorry mate, but as much as I love your info I think this one might be a bit off.

Richardson and the club worked for weeks putting together Galvin’s contract offer. it was $1,050,000 a year from 2026 with added opportunities in the media. Richo’s said as much in both the statement and in subsequent interviews, but I’ve had multiple sources verify that there was a contract on the table that Moses refused to even look at, let alone consider.

unfortunately, while WT have been excellent in handling this for the most part, Richardson’s passion played into Isaac’s hands, as has the fact that we’ve gone backwards onfield which you could arguably attribute to Lachlan’s decision.

as you say though, it’s time to see the back of him. I hope it’s sorted before we head to Townsville.

This is half the problem "his son has always been in winning sides"..

Is this because they have moved him from club to club so that they are always winning?

Theres a trend here.

And the self entitled little pr1ck and his delusional father haven't considered that he wouldn't be in the NrL if it wasn't for Benji Marshall

They bite the hand that feeds them everywhere they go to "chase success"..

I'll reiterate.. Galvin and his father have played at winning clubs because they are self entitled and think he's better than he is.. there is no team first with them. It is Galvin first.. Galvin one and only.

Please give my regards to Mr Galvin and let him know I hope pole belts the FK out of the little cnt when we play him in opposing colours

Yours truly

Wow
You seem to know a lot about the family so please inform us all how many teams he has played in chasing wins ?

And you might be surprised that he isn’t the first player to leave a club that gave them their nrl debut
Wests
Dorahy
Boyd
Brown

Balmain
Tedesco
Woods
Moses

And if you want to tell Mr.Galvin something do it yourself,
Because I’m sure he wouldn’t give a sh-t what a MYD #2 thought.

Burton to fullback Galvin to 5/8
Pretty sure Crichton has played a bit at full back.

I'd say he's the best centre in the game at the moment, so not saying I'd do it, but - if Galvin is up to it - they could possibly be thinking the way of NSW SOO teams of years past: "3 great full backs? Let's play 2 in the centres..."

From the players signed in recent years I get the feeling they have a 'dream team' mentality that has this year (apart from tonight!) proved the exception to the champion team beating a team of champions adage.

1. Crichton
3. Burton
6. Galvin

I wouldn't. Tracey I don't think is anything special, but they'd be moving the best centre and a far better 5/8th in Burton just to accommodate a kid who at the very least is horribly out of form and fairly or not, now has baggage.

I wouldn't even have Galvin in their 17 right now; Just throwing it out there as a possibility.

They won't win a premiership with Galvin added to this side. They will burn out. Good solid forward pack but after 26 rounds they will run out of steam.
