Lachlan Galvin #277 *Megathread*

What I heard today and I believe it.

The Tigers never made an offer for Galvin. He and his management wanted out. Richo released it to the media and ended the relationship. His agent then went nuclear attacking Benji and bullying claims to expedite the release. Tigers oblige with a small transfer fee.

Very simple Tigers didn’t want the kid at the price and decided to move on. Had to save face to fan base after losing the big 3 historically. There is no way a contract offer is not made if you seek to retain a player.

His manager read the tea leaves and expedited the matter. It’s a weird win win situation. He’s 5 years away from star money if he ever gets there.

The rest is a smokescreen the 165k transfer fee and no offer was done to make sure he wasn’t off market. Salary Cap auditors hands would’ve tied if 1m offer made formally.

Tigers have done everything to ensure he is released this year. The actions are clear on both sides.

I’m pretty sure Braith is a mate of Benji’s and is pissed off at the way Galvin’s team has thrown Benj under the bus. That and he is probably completely off Issac Moses as a rival agent.
To be fair, you’d be hard pressed to find a human being who dislikes or hates Benji. The one thing he has always done is staying grounded. People will always go in to bat for that kind

I might be alone here but 165k and fair as you don't want it too high so no one takes it as it creates more mess.

Just get this spoilt kid out the door before the players return to training.

I was always saying we must get a player in return etc... But not now
He has brought the club, coaches and players down and I think this might actually prove a turning point as they will want to prove they can win without him.

your last sentence only rings true.Tigers never made an offer yet it looks like the kid had the keys to how the team plays

the quicker he is out the door the better . We looked like we rolled over so what.Sometimes its best to park the ego. Bad ploy it being out there that part of it is to drop legal proceedings. Im confident Richo will extract every last drop of what he can get from a win win / loose loose situation
Can we really be that confident he'll get us something out of this when it was boneheaded statement that landed us in this situation in the first place...

Going to the dogs only makes sense if it’s for next year, unless he is prepared to play reserve grade and wait for an opportunity. They are all playing well and bringing Galvin in would heap attention and pressure on the club. I think they have a settled squad and a good chance of winning the gf if they continue at this rate.

Parra doesn’t fit the narrative but they haven’t really played with a straight bat so far. Again, unless brown leaves this year it makes no sense to go there until 2026.

Roosters to me are possible destination for this year but there are the DCE rumours.

Got to love the dumb contract rules/enforcement that allow this kind of horse trading to place during the season.

As a regular fan, I am constantly undecided about how much money I want to commit to the nrl. I used to be a season ticket holder (family membership) now I just go to a game or two and watch at home.

I’m obviously still emotionally invested but feel constantly let down by the players, club and code. Not by results on the field, that’s just sport you win some you lose some. But by the integrity/behaviour of players/managers, clubs, media and NRL. I guess ego and interests get in the way of good decision making.

I meet him at a party in early 2006 after the grand final win and I was thinking what a pr!CK and he treated the wait staff bad but after I was thinking young dumb and full of come what an ego

But now I think he is amazing has really grown as a man and would be a great mentor to younger players

Problem is you cant mentor someone who is already a champion, in his own mind.
