I know they are professionals, but if their season goes down the toilet, I can’t see the interloper being a very popular figure amongst the playing group over the summer. Especially with his attitude as it is.It's got me stumped. The bloke I was working with yesterday is a rabid dogs fan. He was going on about how garbage Sexton is and Reed at hooker is useless, how the Dogs now are a tip team who if players don't fit the team they get rid of them. How they're reserve grade is full of talent. How Galvin is an amazing player one of the best juniors he's ever seen. He was saying in the trial game we played against them this year he saw how Galvin was a play ahead of everyone, how he reads the game like the top players do.
Then he was telling me how good Ciraldo is and how Gus is a genius.
I just reminded him that Gus isn't as big a genius as he thinks cause I'm pretty sure he just did exactly what Sheens wanted to do with Ciraldo. How the kid Gus got to the Dogs, was a kid Sheens got to the Tigers first. How it's not Gus that's really the genius but Sheens. Asked him why Sexton and Mahoney are no good anymore, why not just even give them this season to try and win a comp togeather. He just said they're crap and can't read the game, I'm like they got you to the top of the table. I reminded him it was only 3 years ago they couldn't win a game and now he thinks they're world beaters. Then I said to him my favourite thing about what the Dogs did when they took Galvin. It's that 2 nobodies like you and me are arguing about letting players go from your club for that rat. Imagine the talk in the dressing room. It's ruined your season. Saw him this morning and just laughed at him. He didn't say anything.
Maybe it's just me, but when I watched them for a bit 2 or 3 weeks ago, I could swear I saw Marhoney and Sexton cutting him out and refusing to give him the ball. Maybe I was reading too much into it. But I agree if trying to shoe horn him into the squad this year ruins their season, it's going to be a long off season for him with his new teammates.I know they are professionals, but if their season goes down the toilet, I can’t see the interloper being a very popular figure amongst the playing group over the summer. There was another moment I picked up in the first half where he threw a hospital pass to Burton who dropped it, then proceeded to be waving his arms at him. I thought Moses was a spoilt brat. Got nothing on this guy.![]()

Well who would have thought interrupting a ladder-leading combination by bringing in a teenager on a big pay packet and making the guys who got you there find new jobs, thereby pissing off half the...www.facebook.com
Told my mate I don't care if we get beat by the Dogs by 70, as long as Galvin spends 80 minutes getting given his medicine. There was another moment I picked up in the first half where he threw a hospital pass to Burton who dropped it, then proceeded to be waving his arms at him. For sure Benji played Galvin early. Just like Sheens did with Benji. He saw a lot of himself in the young kid. Play what you see in front of you. When you’re good enough, you’re old enough. Sheens said it. So did Benji. Galvin sucked it up, believed his own hype and took advantage of the opportunity to jump into first grade. He never wanted to be at the Tigers and let his grub of a manager do the dirty work. He hasn’t just disrupted the Doggies season, he derailed ours too. A sad tale that is yet to see an ending. We’ll see at the end of the season how it plays out for both clubs.Sheens identified Galvin as a future lock. Benji put Galvin in at 5/8 at the start of last year after Latu got injured in preseason. Benji left Galvin at 5/8 hoping to entice him to stay. It didn't work. Even 6 months into last year's season Luai was speaking about Latu as his halves partner, how he was a freak and naturally gifted. Only real reason Galvin stayed at half was because Benji imo through inexperience as a coach tried to set a system up for Galvin that was the same as Sheens set up for him when he burst onto the seen. Benji took the punt because Latus dodgy hamstrings kept him sidelined abit aswell.
There is some frustration among Dogs' fans about Galvin giving a couple of his teammates, including Burton, a mouthful even though his passes were dodgy.Maybe it's just me, but when I watched them for a bit 2 or 3 weeks ago, I could swear I saw Marhoney and Sexton cutting him out and refusing to give him the ball. Maybe I was reading too much into it. But I agree if trying to shoe horn him into the squad this year ruins their season, it's going to be a long off season for him with his new teammates.

Yes this ^^ it’s only a couple of games and he’s only been there for a month! Enjoy the feeling for the moment, but we can’t be crowing yet, our team needs to concentrate on lifting our own season out of the pit.Didn't watch the second half. Thought he was ordinary in the firs half. Like everyone im hoping this falls apart for the dogs and Galvin cops the blame. However these things rarely fall in Tigers fans favour and its way too early to say he has stuffed the dogs season. So I sit and watch hoping, but not ready to jump on yet. Been burnt too many times.
Yeh when he came on against Parra even though came on as halfback , sexton who went to hooker didn’t pass him the ball I think only until the last minute of the game . It was obvious to me he froze him out … dogs were lucky eels had been exhausted from defending after giving dogs alot of cheap ballMaybe it's just me, but when I watched them for a bit 2 or 3 weeks ago, I could swear I saw Marhoney and Sexton cutting him out and refusing to give him the ball. Got the spoon didn’t he? Then was in a grand final a couple of years later, so I’m not counting my chickens too early again.Yeah I remember how bad Moses was when he first joined Parra.
Not just you. Definitely noticed that. They disrupted their structure by fitting him in and disrupts it again by cutting him out. Love it!Maybe it's just me, but when I watched them for a bit 2 or 3 weeks ago, I could swear I saw Marhoney and Sexton cutting him out and refusing to give him the ball. He’s a project, when guys like DCE, Reynolds, Munster are gone or deep into their 30’s he’ll hit his prime physically and be one of the better halves in the game. The Dogs probably should have left him with us this year but it obviously got untenable.Galvin cannot defend in the middle. He backs away from contact.
Been saying it for a while- he's Wade Graham Part 2/Gavin Miller....he's wide playmaking second rower. Or maybe a centre.
He should always have been viewed as a project. He’s a project, when guys like DCE, Reynolds, Munster are gone or deep into their 30’s he’ll hit his prime physically and be one of the better halves in the game. The Dogs probably should have left him with us this year but it obviously got untenable.
None of those are facts. All facts. It was the intent for Latu to be in the halves with Galvin moving to forwards. Galvin acknowledges that this was probably the plan in interviews he has done.
If you read the words carefully in galvins press statement about leaving it says "development as a half".... Because our long term plan didn't include him in the halves.
Galvin wanted out well before we even signed Luai and Galvin never played 13 in any grade.Sheens identified Galvin as a future lock.
