Latrell Mitchell and Connor Watson

The good thing about Watson is that you can play him at 5/8 or FB.

He is currently playing FB in Reserves.

Maybe that is where they are looking to put him.

Easts will somehow manage to sign Tedesco and still hang onto these guys as well - they always do. They will offload only the players they want to offload i.e. SKD, Guerra, Evans etc

Guerra might be useful for us. Anyway I would make a big play on Napa and Cordner really fix our edge defense contract or no contract just to unsettle chooks a bit and maybe get an auditor in there.

A Brooks/Watson combo isnt any worse in terms of organisation than a Brooks/Reynolds combo, and it's a lot cheaper. You could also shift Watson to FB in 2019 if a quality half became available. I think he'd be a good signing.

I heard that Guerra is bound for the Titans as is Vete.

Could have done with both of them.

Hmmm stocks are dwindling by the minute. Guerra to Titans was always gonna happen, he will replace McQueen. They seem to have no trouble attracting players and he is another Queenslander, they usually end up wanting to go home.

According to FoxSports, Conor has resigned until 2018.

Below is their full list of off contract players. Lots of talent there. I would take any of these.
Broncos - Alex Glenn, Kahu, Roberts!

Mitchell will turn out to be just as good as Tede$c0 @ FB.
Natural talent with great athleticism.
Chooks would be holding his ability back if he isn't going to be given the FB role there.

What I like is the comment that Watson approached his manager to see what other options were out there.

If the Roosters have any decency towards the player they will release him if a better option becomes available to him

Go WTS !.

Then someone suggested he could go to Wests Tigers, and he injured himself when he fell over laughing

He would be a great buy for the WTs and there may be a few young players who have had their progress to NRL blocked at other clubs who will be asking their managers the same questions. It is not the players off contract but those on contract who may become available who we should be very interested in.

Paki Afu is a must,,I have no idea if he's any good or even where he plays but I've always wanted a Afu at Wests Tigers..

We need a mix of experience and youth to get an all round good team. Watson would be a great addition. I dont think mitchell is going anywhere. Have been told by a die hard rooster he has been dropped till he loses a few kgs and pulls up at training. Dont think he will be going anywhere.

I think the only way we get either of these guys is if we release teddy this year in a swap deal.. i dont see the chooks releasing them out of their contracts other than for teddy

Ivan get it done now and while you are at it swap Wood$ for Graham as well before the next round.

That would be great if we could land him, but I'd play him at 5/8 rather than fullback like the article suggests.

Forget about hearsay. Strike while the irons hot. Put an offer on the table for L Mitchell. We would be nothing less than stupid not too. Would be a welcome addition at no 1\. With the addition of Matulino, Packer and go for Graham similarly as per LM now! With McQueen and TMM. Offers on the table now. Before the NRL makes changes. Plus Milne. WOW. We really could do some damage. Very unexpected in the next 12 - 24 months!

Think it'd be great to snare these two however I don't think the Rorters will release them. I'm sure they'll find a way to keep everyone in their salary cap

Amazed that Robbie Rochow is not in first grade and not signed for next year. He has a great defensive technique and hits hard. Plus he has a heart which is the first thing we should be looking for.

I noticed Cooper and Bolton on the list too, good value and experienced. Plenty of options and certainly no need to panic.

You can't approach players directly until the last year of a contract. We would have to engage the Roosters first to make an offer to Mitchell.

Why would we put in an offer for Latrell when he can't even make the starting side for his team? I think we have learnt our lesson in paying for potential. I would rather pay for someone like Brett Morris or Jack Wighton (both off contract in 2018 according to zerotackle.com). We need to get the blend right between youth and experience.

I hope the Tigers completely ignore "marquee" signings (Dugan, J Reynolds, Cronk etc) and go for these kind of signings.

Grab the likes of TMM, Watson, Mitchell, Milne, some good mid level forwards.
