I Haven’t really cared much as the mighty Ravens are flocking on their way to Miami to grab the Lombardi.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I've had to sit through a 1-13 season!

You're obviously a Bengals supporter? I feel your pain.

What a painful season....

That is correct and I have watched every second of it!

The only upside to being flogged (or tanking) is that a club has the possibility of rebuilding via a draft at the end of the season.

@Russell keeping this on track, I think an NRL draft + trade system would change how talent is distributed in the NRL and this thread would be very different.

Fox reported today that Wally Lewis believes that contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on. He's right, because in 2019/20 professional sport is purely about entertainment - which is a multi-million dollar business. Eyeballs on screens and punters through gates.

A draft/trade system would take the power out of managers hands and ultimately hand it back to the clubs.

Don't tell me about tanking for the draft....my Knicks lost out big time on that

Impatience! Your having a laugh .... surely?
This has been dragging on for almost 2 months.

Most certainly not. 2 months is nothing in the scheme of things.

Easy to say for those of you who already know what's going on. The rest of us just get fed all sorts of ambiguous crap and speculation from both the media and the few posters on here who claim insider knowledge. It doesn't help that all the info given to us over this time never actually correlates!

I hear ya and that's my point, the power was in their hands. They put all their eggs in one basket and ultimately didn't land KD.

That could be us with LM.

IMO...they shouldn't have let Porzingis walk.

Having Dolan in charge is like when Dave Smith ran the NRL....utterly hopeless

Seems like the Tigers play in the near future will be Johnston from the rabbits....how's that for a second prize....

Yeah I agree, however NRL clubs aren't privately owned dictatorships in Aus.

As long as we maintain a board of governance I believe a draft/trade system could work.

That was 1991, it's now 2020.

it would be interesting to see what would've happened if the draft remained.....a big turning point in the game even if it was a million years ago

The Law said it was illegal ... a restraint of trade...I don't think the ruling would change if it was challenged in Court..

I've got a feeling we will have a clearer picture tomorrow of what's happening. No source to quote, just my read. We should be able to move forward either way rather than this BS jumping at shadows.
