@gallagher If you did that you wouldn't be able to bring him to a media conference and "Show him Off" as he would still be with another club until released. Wish it was Friday tomorrow and this was done

It wouldnt be too gracious but are there rules around not being able to do that?

I would guess it would be in breach of his Roosters contract!

At the least it would be very poor form when he is trying to get a release from them!

I really don't know unfortunately... I don't see LM staying at Roosters regardless where he goes.. If I was Management and we signed him I would hold off until they release him and make a big deal of it after that.

I don't think there's rules, just decorum and formalities afforded to both parties. Probably became a staple after the Saints paraded Moltzen only to have us say we never released him which made us look like dicks and the Saints stupid.

Another thought I just had but Latell might enjoy all the attention he is getting. I have no knowledge or anything but he might be playing this out to make him feel like he is the chosen one. Anyways Madge don't seem the type to play games so I'd tread with caution because he will call it as he sees it.

It could be a multitude of things delaying it.

He could have other offers now, he could seriously just want to take his time with it as he knows he is guaranteed his salary next year at Easts at a minimum and wants to ensure whatever offers are out there are serious and final. There might be jockeying for next year to see how much freight Easts will pay (stupid not to have a go.)

I still hope he signs with us, I think he'll be a massive boost to our side and gives our backline a huge shot in the arm.

I'll be very disappointed if he doesn't sign with us, but he'll be like the countless ones before him who never thought we were the right place for them, it's not an alien feeling for WT fans.

Yeah, and they'd be the sort to pull the same stunt we did to the Saints.

bah, ruining my fun...

WT have all their ducks lined up for the big Latrell signing etc(inc a 2020 release from the Roosters)...but his manager is stalling putting pen to paper.

Tigers are getting impatient with Latrell and the lack of communication and commitment from his manager...

WT are the only club to formally table LM an offer.

@tigerap Do we play a bluff and say here is your deadline or you will have no offers ? I say yes as if another club comes close to our money we lose out i would think..

Cheers, I dont think Madge/Hartigan will get played for fools.

I think its obvious, LM and his Manager and hoping another offer comes to the table....If I were Pascoe I'd be putting a deadline of this Friday, if he is playing games with the club before he has signed, what sort of attitude will he bring to the club, we all know the public's perception of this guy, he has a big head and doesn't always turn up with his A game..

I’m not exactly across the ins and outs of NRL contract negotiations but would there not need to be some sort of communication (let alone a little negotiation) between the club who are about to sign/have signed Latrell and the Roosters, since he is still contracted to them? Since it’s becoming apparent they still don’t know what he is doing, I’m doubting there will even be a resolution this week.. Seems to be too much still to take place for any announcement to be made, whether it’s us signing him or not.

@Sco77y 100% right mate, and that agreement between the Tigers and the Roosters is in place...The 2 clubs have thrashed out a release for LM to join the WT in 2020, if he signs with us.

I really can’t see a lot of this being Latrells fault. I think he’s being very easy manipulated by others in terms of trying to make a bidding war. Can’t see him speaking to his manager and saying nah will leave the offers on the table to see how much more we can get. The kids confident but he doesn’t come across like that imo

That would be my question. How much of the stalling is Latrell vs how much of it is the agent/advisors?
