We released Matterson and Marsters early and now our best hope is to POSSIBLY sign Luciano Leilua and Zane Musgrove. I think this leaves us with a weaker squad than 2019. Paying $2000 for Season Tickets to NOT make the Semis again is a decision that will haunt me

Luciano is 100% with us, all pieces are falling in place and the Pom confirmed it

But we were told "We won't be releasing Matterson early unless it benefits Wests Tigers" we've negatively impacted our squad by releasing him BEFORE we had a better player secured.

It benefited us by not having to pay him a cent from his 2020 contract when we did...meanwhile the Rorters are paying Mitchell 14K a week to go fishing

That makes zero sense, Maybe I'm missing something.

Wests had a player who was worth ~ double what they were playing him but had a contract. That's sports. They did not have to release him but if they did, they would want market value for him, not what his contract was for.

So no, they didn't save 350 from 2020, they lost a 600+k player they were paying 350k for. That 350k will mean sweet FA in the cap situation and that move has greatly weakened the team.

I'm still at a loss to know what Wests got from the "deal". Apart from shafted. again. By poor management. Again.

A player that didn't want to be here..that always works well..it allowed us to go in the market for Luciano Leulia

Very tough one as matterson sulked...

But basically we have replaced a fringe origin forward and our best player, with a hugely overweight St George bench player.

I know Matterson made it difficult / impossible, but you just get the feeling Bellamy / Bennet / Rorters would have got a better result.

Just like what Geo said... What's the matter son didn't want to be here so he was released... he will just cause a heap of problems and that WEAKENS the team

geez some people don't look at the whole picture... shortsightedness ???

@POM, if you are still on. Confirmation of Stepheno from Parra? And is a deal likely to be arranged for 2020?

Parra really peeved we've even got him for 2021 & looking to do us no favours but Tigers doing their best to get him for 2020.

How rich of Parra. Benefited off Moses and Matterson contract debacles and now have the audacity to be angry when we sign their players legitimately for 2021. Piece of trash club.

We will soon see how Bellamy handles exactly that, with JAC. He signed a contract (albeit with Storm), a part of me wants him to honour that.

Hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
You gullible fools!!!

I told all you fools from the start, players like Latrell Mitchell don't come to the Weststigers.
I really can't believe you actually thought it would happen.

Drone malfunction...

Someone is looking foolish..agreed..

Did you take my drone story seriously?

I genuinely think some people did, one of the highlights of this thread. And really, a summation of it.

Well if they did, it's confirmation that people will believe anything if it suits their bias.
Obviously I was just having a laugh at the whole situation.

My constant "has he signed yet" posts were also taking the piss out of everyone hanging on every piece of "news" to come out, I really enjoyed the whole ride.
Reading the stuff posted on here just shows how desperate we are to sign a quality player.

No one cares

Yes, plenty on here just seem to leapfrog the detail and jump straight into their preconceived opinions. But hey this is a forum, and a pretty entertaining one at that.

do you really think that the club with over a $million CAP space hasn’t a contingency plan?

Honestly, I don't believe we have a contingency plan.

Already been reported on nrl.com that we're now in for JAC.

so...we badly need a fullback so we're looking to sign a winger?

In your own words...

"You have to grab these top line players when they are available"

Now you are saying don't grab them...Sheeesh!!!!!

You don't think we should allocate some money to our spine? We have no fullback, we have no hooker. You're ok with that?

We know your feelings Avo.

However I cannot understand a person who labels someone an idiot and then asks them any type of question.

If they don't have salary cap problems he may very well make him honour the contract but the way the Storm operate they sign first worry about the cap later

Not gonna lie.... I’m absolutely gutted that it looks like we won’t be signing Latrell

Would’ve been an excellent pickup - however I’m still hoping that maybe some representatives are on the phone with Latrell directly and maybe trying to see where his head is at

It looks like ?but nice to see you haven’t gone quite

Well there are many disappointed souls Atm , Mitchell was NOT what was needed at this present time at our club . Actions or non actions speak for themselves in this situation, the young man is a fine footballer but the entourage and baggage that he brings would of been a disaster!
For Pascoe he finally gets a pass mark for showing some leadership at long last ! I get the feeling today could well be the turning point for our club ... player agents and players from this day will know that the Weststigers are not push overs anymore .
Even though this decision to pull the contract leaves many with negative vibes towards the club ..personally with what has transpired over the last month with a forthright Chairman Employed and pulling a Multi million contract from one of the games brightest players shows me that our club is finally maturing .. with a COE hopefully around the corner a huge war chest of funds over the next 18 months to sign players to cement our club into top 4 contenders .
Do not despair in the not to distant future player managers will be ringing our club to offer there players . Today is the day I have been waiting a long time for .. mark my words today is a turning point in our club’s history! I am very proud how the club has handled this situation ! The line has been drawn ...
