Liam Fulton

Liam will be valuable for us, no "Iifs and buts" about it. He`ll make 40 tackles per game and although he doesn`t hit very hard, he`s very good at wrapping up the football. Liam is also very capable of hitting the ball at speed and making line breaks, although he does have reasobly good ball skills when utilised, i`d prefer him to get deep and run onto the ball at speed as he`s very capable of running very good lines. Liam would thrive if he`s surrounded by a big physical pack and with the possibility of us signing Liam, Cayless or maybe both, a player such as Liam would be important as he will provide the mobility in the forward pack. Can`t understand comments stating we don`t need him, he`s justing getting to the age where he`ll be toughening up and playing his best football, the other up and comers we have coming through aren`t quite at that stage just yet !

There's one line there where u say "Liam would thrive if he`s surrounded by a big physical pack", thats probably true, and it highlights the point i was making about having both Liam and Heighno in the pack together…......

Going by current signings i could see the following working

8.Galloway
9.Farah
10.Gibbs
11.Ellis
12.Gower/Mataka/Akeripa/Moors
13.Fulton

or

8.Galloway
9.Farah
10.Gibbs
11.Ellis
12.Gower/Mataka/Akeripa/Moors
13.Heighno

But my choice would be

8.Galloway
9.Farah
10.Gibbs
11.Ellis
12.Gower
13.Mataka

14.Payten
15.Shirnack/Moors
16.Akeripa
17.Fulton

Although good, I still don`t think those packs you mentioned are quite good enough, we definately need a player like Jeff Lima to make us much more phsical.
How`s this:
13.Heighington/Fulton
12.Payten/Gibbs
11.Ellis
10.Galloway
9.Farah
8.Lima

14.Fulton/Heighington
15.Mataka/Gower/Dwyer
16.Moors/Andrew Fifita
17.Gibbs/Payten/Leeano

I agree someone like Lima would be great. My only issue with the pack you've picked is the number 12\. Im a huge believer that Benji's game goes to another level when he has hole running backrowers, and Payten and Gibbs are'nt that.

Well to be fair, Benji works best passing from right to left. So as long as we've got Ellis playing on that side of the field with Lawrence and Tuiaki outside him, Benji is still going to be dangerous.

AH Ha…...Liam's coming back...........Robbie said so.......on the footy show......

Oh and he didn't deny Cayless either........

Liam does need to get into the weights, but it is good to have him back.. Also is Galea confirmed as gone? Thought he had a good year

hope Galea resigns we will need his defence i think but will depend on how much we have after we get lima and cayless and possibly tuquiri

With Fulton returning and the likely signings of Lima and Cayless, I wouldn't expect Galea to be re-signed. It was mentioned a few weeks ago that the Tigers will be releasing Galea and I don't think their stance has changed, especially with the emergence of good backrowers coming through (Dwyer, Mataka, Schirnack etc).

Liam can stay in the UK. We don't need him, nor should we want him. For the amount we pay him we could get much better value elsewhere..!!

Exactly how much do we pay him….?

Liam is a good first grader we need him and I dont think we would be paying overs for him.

If i was making the call i wouldnt be bringing Liam back, however, he is a good player and one thing im looking forward to is his combination with Benji. They have a great understanding and im sure we'll see many half breaks and full breaks by Liam running off a Benji pass.

i wouldnt mind him coming back as long as we r not paying him bucket loads. he is a workhorse, esp in defence, and will prob fill in the void left by morris… and at least liam knows how to pass the ball

As Steve Roach said on 2GB, he is a tickler not a tackler.

I was trying to quote viscious there. Good onya sid

The kid is an absolute weapon.

I

I wouldn't classify him as a weapon but he will help keep the defence tight around the ruck. Other than that I don't see a whole lot of value in Fulton.

Loosing Morris and Galea, we loose a lot of defense, especially the mopping up stuff, so Fulton will be valuable

and he has offloads in him too ,which we have been lacking.

as well as a further developed kicking game…..
